Funny little fellah with a creative talent for going out to left field.

I’m pretty certain the writers are not going the obvious way that’s being discussed. I feel that the emotional elements are fully balanced by the excellent and horrifically nightmarish horror elements/scenes. Personally, I’m not frustrated. I enjoy every episode and definitely don’t want a good series to end! I love all the twists and turns. I can easily see, if this were to actually happen, all of the emotion being the catalyst it is here in the series. This is all just my opinion and others are entitled to theirs as well.

greenguy86 1 points 1 month ago.

It does feel drawn out. I think if the action was sped up, then there probably wouldn’t be as much plot. I think Harold knows the beginning/end. Writers/producers just have to get us there in some sort of satisfactory fashion.

Its the old serials formula .. I do find the show has gotten to much endless feelings dialouge and not much actual story telling.. I would guess it is made in vancouver then.. lol lotsa crap shows from there do that.. I am finding the endless virtue signalling in this show to be getting rather stale..

Salem's Lot (2024)

It’s not great. Anything that isn’t heavily reliant on jump scares and sets an atmosphere is a big plus. It’s been about a year since I saw the original last, and a lot of people are wearing some heavy rose tinted glasses, yet the original does do a better job of building to the big events. The outright horror of the original was muted, even for the day, so this didn’t have a lot to live up to. (King’s writings are always going to be better if you can get past his incredibly slow starts to 95% of his books) This movie does have great make up, the fledgings look good with a couple of exceptions and the CG on their eyes was well done for the most part. That said, they over relied on it for the big bad. When are they going to learn? When your big bad doesn’t seem tangible, it kills a horror movie every single time. Practical is cheaper, faster and looks better 99% of the time. The scene that was in every trailer, where the MC gets swooped up in front of the church, is a prime example - it should’ve been done with wire work and come from the side. The shot they used belonged more in a spoof, like Scary Movie. I’m going to rewatch the original later, but right now I’d give it a draw as neither are ever going to be a memorable vamprire movie.

All these sad youngsters think that they can ONLY party or have a good time IF they are saturated in alcohol or shagging every Tom, Dick or Mary.
Gone are the days of 80’s Disco Nights, where we paid a $5 entry fee and got a drink with that !
Then spent the rest of the time socializing and having a laugh as we danced till the morning hours !
Sure, …. there was certainly creative drug use back then too…but the attitude was all about FUN …. not just simply coming home wasted!

Yeah, I’d much rather binge watch it all but they’ll drag us along episode to episode season to season. I’m all in until the end. It’s a sort of toxic relationship. I’ve been down this road before.

Pure art with Alla Nazimova in this silvery silky story. It’s 1923, over one century ago, but not the 1st version. More like the 30th. No telling how many have been done - usually as stage pieces. Jessica Chastain & Al Pacino also did a very good version 10 years ago.

The sad part is. This should be prequels to the dceu movies and whatnot. But it won’t be. So all this build up is kind of for nothing. Unless they plan on doing all these awesome backstories for 2 different universes inside DC which would be crazy.

This series and this episode is quite easily better then Joker: Folie à Deux as at least this episode is very well written and well acted with the series as a whole being a very good example of how to do a villain spinoff / sequel and still be just as engaging as what came before it.

random000 2 points 1 month ago.

Garry Moore, Laugh-In, Benny Hill, Dean Martin’s regulars, Smothers Brothers, and too many other great sketch teams really didn’t get the reunions that Carol & her buddies had (I think). Some of them made retrospectives though. This is Carol’s bunch last one (I think).

Tis the season to be jolly ☠ watchin vampire flix, but is another “Salem’s Lot” necessary? I’ll watch it out of (hopeful) morbid curiosity, and for Stephen’s sake! Ever wonder if the younger (techno savvy) generations, curl up somewhere (quiet) > and read a good SK book? Not eBooks, or audio books… I mean a real musty ol’ book. hehe

Not only did a part of America die when Carol went off the air, but so did several nails get driven into the coffin on tv entertainment. It was literally the last show of its kind. Never forgave that crappy Spiderman show for pushing this successful 11 year program off the air. Hilarious comedy crew.

I’m in the same ‘Lost’ - POV camp, with you all (Bubbles, Wayne, Rontron and MMyers). This was a very cool (and unique) sci-fi spin > of the “stranded on a desert island” tale. ~ Even the way it concluded, was strangely bearable. Although I’m not quite ready, (yet) to give it a binge re-watch > I will check out Prison Break. Back when it first debuted, friends would be bugging me to give it a go, but I never did. Now’s the time! ~ ty Michaelmyers, for the reminder…

Well— it had a little of a Stranger Things vibe, but that was it. When the Rob Lowe miniseries is better— you know its bad. I can think of at least 5 horrible Vamp movies, that are better. The David Soul adaptation , is the one to watch. Skip this and watch the original.

Saw what I think was the first one maybe, that was kind of a bust, the whole thing you are expecting to see something, have no idea what is going one, keep looking around corners, waiting, and never actually see anything, or make sense of it.
