Love both. The movie & the legendary band that outlived the film by half a century that was inspired by it.

You lucky fellah! Would’ve loved to have seen them early like that, but I wasn’t even riding a bike at that time. It was all Mary Poppins soundtrack :P

(Both) Sabbath- Is it the end my friend - satan’s coming round the bend. People running because their scared. You people better go & beware.
And then Doors- This is the end, beautiful friend This is the end, my only friend.

What’s odd is both bands existed at the same time in 1969… but Sabbath went for decades longer. Who’d have thought they were a blues band called Earth until they saw this Karloff flick??

No, representing the interests of the people and not the corporations who sign your paycheck is everything. The fact that you let them sign your paycheck tells us everything about who you are and what you represent.

This feels almost like a series finale, but I hope not. Can’t find any news on a Season 6 yet, and Season 5 started filming last July, so we’d have heard by now, I think. I’d like to see it come back another season.

Strike (2017)
Piglet 0 points 9 months ago.

Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott are back in business as cameras are set to roll on Season 6 of JK Rowling’s Strike later this month. Deadline hears that the BBC and HBO detective drama will begin principal photography on February 12, with Tom Burke reprising his role as a war veteran turned private detective. Holliday Grainger is also back as Strike’s business partner. The BBC is yet to confirm the Season 6 renewal but is expected to make an announcement later this month. Brontë Film and TV, the company established to adapt Rowling’s books, is producing. HBO is back on board after co-producing Season 5, with Cinemax involved in previous seasons.

Kardat 1 points 1 month ago.

Still no word on release of Season 6, other than it had started filming earlier this year. Looking forward to it with both leads back. Hopefully it does well, and we see it extended further with books 7&8. Such a great series, and the leads (Burke and Grainger) make it such.

Underworld: Endless War (2011)
SheWatches 1 points 1 month ago*.

Watching part 1 of the anime because it bridges a piece of the gap between the “prequel” and the really famous release of the Underworld (2003) movie. Takes place in 1890 Then, I’ll be back to watch the other part II (takes place in 1967). Then, I’ll watch Underworld Evolution (2006) because it takes place next on the timeline and then come back here and watch Part III which takes place in 2012. Then, leave and watch Underworld: Awakening.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)

Awful, contrived, horrid animation/CGI/animatrononics… plus the story is just BLAND. Ceasar’s Symbol of freedom/love/unification is NEVER touched upon or explained, leaving the story a void.

Fat Joe Talks (2024) S1 E1
Kardat 0 points 1 month ago.

agreed. no offense to Joe, but I would have rather watched/listened to Method talk for the entire 30 minutes, and to give us only a minute of Buju on his first concert back in the states? c’mon, let’s hear him tell his story. Both guests more interesting than the host, and neither given the time they deserved.

artrok2000 1 points 1 month ago.

Joe is a pretty solid hip-hop historian/ storyteller, but mini-stories ie; “ yo that night we went out and we ran into so and so “ type of stories. He is no talk show host. he’s quite boring. and i agree I would rather listen to Meth. This is going to flop, and i dont feel bad

Vampire films are no longer scary for me, the thrill is long gone (and most are comedies) - but it’s still great if they are at least a wee bit creepy, and well made. In this, I thought the vamp effects were pretty good. Other than that, it was a (vintage car) show and shine at the Drive-In, for homeless zombie vampires… and the cars were awesome. 🎃

Yeah, I’d much rather binge watch it all but they’ll drag us along episode to episode season to season. I’m all in until the end. It’s a sort of toxic relationship. I’ve been down this road before.

Merrigan Able 1 points 1 month ago.

👍Alrighty then, I’ll give it a look. So, there’s value in delaying… Better to wait for few seasons to go by, first - then binge fest it, if it’s your cuppa.

I’m pretty certain the writers are not going the obvious way that’s being discussed. I feel that the emotional elements are fully balanced by the excellent and horrifically nightmarish horror elements/scenes. Personally, I’m not frustrated. I enjoy every episode and definitely don’t want a good series to end! I love all the twists and turns. I can easily see, if this were to actually happen, all of the emotion being the catalyst it is here in the series. This is all just my opinion and others are entitled to theirs as well.

greenguy86 1 points 1 month ago.

It does feel drawn out. I think if the action was sped up, then there probably wouldn’t be as much plot. I think Harold knows the beginning/end. Writers/producers just have to get us there in some sort of satisfactory fashion.
