= Low Quality | = Medium Quality | = High Quality | How do I watch these? |
This movie was complete and utter garbage. I was hoping with how good the first was, this was going to be a no brainer. Nope. Just trash. The second they announced it was a musical I was like… Oh No. But I was still hopeful. I am so glad I didn’t pay to see this film. I really hope either James Gunn, or Matt Reeves can redeem The Joker in the movies.
Sorry but this was absolutely terrible and not just be cause of all the musical interludes. Just a bad bad movie all around. Truly a disgrace!
Oh man this was a disaster. Todd Philips shoulda just ended with the first one. In a different way this felt like what Disney did to Star Wars. Gonna be tough for me to watch anything with a Joker storyline now. Yuck.
There has to be more of the joker, just better written, better produced and a lot more imagination, like the first. And any future producer must stipulate that the only music being the intro and outro of the film. LOL
Is this a Lady Gaga music video > starring the top notch actor WahKeen?
I love Joaquin Phoenix, but Ledger’s Joker IS The Joker - imho…
PS. Not a bad cam, watchable…
stupid
that was unnecessary.
I won’t spoil anything but I will say the movie “subverts” and subverts hard.
If you like the first move avoid this one. You’ve been warned.
A purposely bad and spiteful movie meant to emasculate Arthur’s character and shame anyone who enjoyed the first film and empathized in any way with him
I’m not going to bother with this one for several reasons. First, I honestly didn’t care for the first movie, second, I see that it’s a musical, and now that I have been warned, I don’t much care for those, so that a bit of a turn off for me to start with, and three, I can see from the ‘star rating’ that the people that have watched this already didn’t seem to care that much for it either.
Others might like this, and more power to them, but thinking this is just something that I’ll have to pass on.
I am very disappointed.
I know how you feel. It felt like they just settle into the role and then hes dead? It was different being a musical but it wasn’t really out of character. if he had escaped and hooked up with lee The joker three could have been interesting
This was a snore fest…and just didn’t make any sense at all - because, if we got by the wtf ending, then technically, the joker never existed. It seems undecided on whether it wants to go down a musical route or a dark movie like the first one. Very disappointing. No fault of the actors they did what they could but the whole storyline and character development was a shambles.
The ending of the first one is purposely ambiguous. It’s possible the entire movie takes place in the asylum, or that he’s in the asylum because he killed Murray on tv in his Joker paint. With that in mind this entire movie could be another story Arthur’s made up or it could be real without contradicting the first imo.
yes that were my thoughts, i felt like this was just an extended fantasy preamble
I only gave this movie a 2 because of Joaquin Phoenix. His Joker is still very good, and he saves what little he could here. Lady Gaga is not at all fitting or in any way entertaining. It seems like a vehicle for her music and her image. She’s really lost the run of herself. I love Heath Ledger’s Joker, and appreciated how Joaquin Phoenix brought another Joker into the “legend” but with Gaga it doesn’t work at all.
This a movie that sadly didn’t need to happen as the first one should have been a one and done film and while the songs in the film are done in a way that makes sense for Arthur given that they all happen inside his head it’s still weird to see as the whole of the last film was spent inside Arthur’s head and there was no songs being played then with the only reason that this film became a musical was the fact that they hired Lady Gaga who is passable at best as Lee and the less said about the films ending the better.
Things have gone to shit when the make a musical out of the Joker / batman , making it nother WOKE JOKE
agree not for me neither ill pass !
Dont be so quick to judge. The movies not even out yet, but also its the same writers/director from the previous one so They can see fit to do with their story line as they want. Also if you know anything about Todd Phillips, watched any interview with him even when he was doing the hangover movies you would know a musical or even partial musical isnt that bizzare. Hell he even produced the movie ‘A star is born’, Thats where I beleive he got to know lady gaga in the first place. Not to mention the Joker did a bunch of songs in the comics, Hell I think Mark Hamill even sang a song when he was doing the voice of the joker in ‘the killing joke’ Get a grip dude.
I completely agree. Xo
Thank you but now that its out, the hounds have started. They’ll complain without watching it. its too funny.
silly for sure
Looks like your comment didn’t age too well.
Not really. I think judging a movie and ranting about it before it comes out is wrong. Art is subjective, People are allowed to agree or disagree, This movie was pretty much a middle finger to people with expectations. He also said for a few years dont expect anything like the first, so the people that are upset thats on them. I love the first movie, but I dont want a reprint of it. Some people do, and thats their right. Maybe im just a movie nerd and i read into things and understand where the creator is comming from before i complain and say “No i wanted it this way”
I can’t belive how much ridiculous this movie is
This movie has almost nothing to do with DC’s Joker character other than the names imo. If that bothers you, then you should skip this movie. That being said, I really enjoyed it. It’s a very unique, one-of-a-kind movie that I couldn’t stop watching. A lot going on under the surface, Carl Jung’s idea of the ‘shadow-self’ and other themes in psychology. And yeah, it’s a musical - lots of great classic songs from decades ago. I will post a spoiler follow-up about the ending.
I think the ending actually sets up a new, more traditional version of the Joker, one that DC fans would be more familiar with. Arthur Fleck’s Joker is simply an inspiration, his version of the Joker sets up why people would ever follow or support a psychopath like The Joker in the first place. Fleck walked so other Jokers could run. But I don’t think the average “DC Joker fan” would have the mental fortitude or curiosity to sit through the whole movie(s) to figure all that out. I actually think these Joker movies could end up connecting to Pattinson’s Batman universe. It sucks that many will miss out on this because of preconceived notions
yup, brain function in modern society is lacking. There’s speculation the guy who gutted him also cut his own face. Watching throughout the whole movie, he had it in for arthur and wanted him dead. I wonder if people realize the many singing scenes were all in his head as a way of coping with his situation
👍
Ima be honest I did like it but it was horrible now I know why joker didn’t even wanna finish the movie
PS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
why so serious??
wasn’t that bad, could’ve been much much better but this is not a bad movie in anyway and def worth a watch
I enjoyed the movie. The musical made perfect sense so don’t let that genre turn you off from watching it. Now I won’t say it was as good as the first. It didn’t even come close in my opinion. The ending for me was a let down, however I’m sure there is going to be a part 3. I’m not familiar with the Harley Quinn character so I can’t compare Gaga’s acting to anyone else as I have nothing to reference it from. As an actress in this movie she did a great job. So did J.P. I think it fell short in Character development and the directors department. It was a good one time watch. ⭐⭐⭐out of 5
I just watched the trailer. All I can say is October seems so far away from now
Joker is DEAD!
Let me start by saying it is not all bad, The cinematography is exceptional as in the first film. Joaquin Phoenix plays the role exceptionally well, with his usual cringe-worthy performances as a wannabe Joker, especially in the court room scenes when he decides to defend himself were well acted.
Harley Quinn, she played her role very well for what she was given, but needed more depth more drama, more Bang!!.
The film itself, well the story line wasn’t what I expected, I was waiting for the moment when all hell broke loose, waiting for Joker to break out of Arkham and tear up the streets along side a reasonably placid Harley Quinn, but it never came and I got bored waiting, wanting and expecting more from my only true boyhood hero. Then the music and singing kept coming and coming and kept making me cringe on levels I had not felt in years since being forced to watch The Sound of Music.
At know point in time did I ever expect it to be a musical, because that’s what it became. I am very disappointed as I am a JOKER fanatic as you can see by my profile photo, I loved the first film, it was unique, beautiful, captivating and such a very different version that we have ever seen before, which kept you wanting more. So after almost 5 years of waiting and anticipating what was to come, this is what we get a freaking musical.
200 million dollars spent and definitely nothing that we all had imagined we would be watching. I never finished the film.
I switched off around 1 hour and 38 minutes in, I was gutted and felt let down, almost heartbroken that this wait and a very long wait left me feeling the way I did.
This is just my opinion and I guess there will be people that love this film and I don’t begrudge those who do.
I don’t even have to watch the first one to know it would be cringe. This one seems on a whole nother level.
First one is an absolute masterpiece… u couldnt be more wrong
I don’t think you know the meaning of masterpiece. You must be thinking it’s a master piece of crap.
U literally said u havent watched the first one… so how could u possibly know? At least watch it and form your own opinion. Youre just being a hater lmao
100% my friend.
I enjoyed it. Joaquin was made for this character.
I don’t care what anyone else thinks I still think this is a great movie
I don’t care what everyone else is saying, I really liked it.
It wasn’t the usual super villain action movie and I for one find that truly refreshing.
I hope the next instalment won’t be a return to the usual hollywood tripe.
I am speechless. After years of waiting for this to come out…Firstly the acting is superb. I enjoyed watching, the musical act was different, which gave the film a deeper understanding of the charaters. This movie separates reality from fiction. The fiction in this film is what we want to happen, the nostalgia of The Joker. However in this take we see how much our imaginations(The Joker and Quin) leads us in a direction we want compared to what the characters reality is. I rate this movie a 6.5/10. I was hoping that The joker would have lead to having conflict with batman and robin. The ending of this movie just made all the time watch prior to the very end, a waste. Give this movie a watch so that you can understand.
I was a bit shocked by the singing, yes i go in ‘’blind’’ sometimes
but a lot because of how bad i thought Lady Gagas singing was too,
I mean she can sing otherwise,
i thought this sequal was a snooze overall…
I’m sure there’s an alternative reality where we watch musicals to cover all genres
Thanks. I was waiting for HD but I’ll go ahead & remove from my watch list now. lol
This is so terrible and Phoenix is one of the worst portrayals of Joker ever, it really doesn’t even come across like it’s the Joker at all. I can’t be bothered
im confused
It’s amazing how so much effort was put into making this garbage. They couldn’t make a decent movie even with $200 million, 4 times the first movie’s budget. In the end, this only tarnished the impact that the first movie had on many people.
it was ok didnt care for the singing i think lady ga ga is hot 1 to 5 i give it a 2
so far not a horrible copy. I’m only a few minutes into it though. It is my rule of thumb that a movie this good I generally wait for a good copy, but I need something to distract me really bad tonight. Can’t sleep, thanks for the add primewire. I love you always
I loved it when he yelled “Its Joking Time” and he joked all over those guys
thank fook for the skip button.
This movie looks good but the new take on Harley Quinn will take some getting used to tho.
I’m glad I gave this a shot even with all the hate this film received. I liked it. It was interesting and entertaining. Although I’m not a fan of the musical interludes, they do not add anything significant to the story, the songs are well used as fillers, time your bathroom breaks accordingly. lol
now i hope you all start to believe that these over paid so called actors and singers dont care as long as they get paid stop going to thee cinema and paying over priced tickets, Hollywood has lost the plot and has no one with any imagination any more its like we are seeing remake after remake and they are just diabolical
I loved it. I know all the songs. Sang along. Also could not take my eyes off Gaga…. was there anyone else in this movie? JOAQUIN WHO???
lol…precisely.
Release date is this Friday October the 4th. Hoo ahh
I just like the fact that they changed up the formula.
The Batman… who would have thunk Robert Patterson?
Joker…. Well, Joaquin, that fits… lol
Harley Quinn… I just want to see Gaga in short shorts….lol
Hard to believe it but it is as bad as everyone says
