Look. I will start off by saying I am a huge crow fan. From the comics, to Brandon Lee’s take on Eric Draven. Which in my eyes is the best take on The Crow a fan could of asked for. But that being said. Let me get into this.

This movie was horrible. For one, they could of done one of a million different Crow Stories, but they decided to redo Eric and Shelly’s story. And, don’t get me wrong. if done right… it could of been fantastic. But this movie was a shit show from start to finish.

Bills take on Eric reminded me of Leto’s Joker, but worse. Shelly… oye, not even worth even being in the movie with how bad she was in this. You could tell the director and crew knew nothing about the The Crow stories, lore, or history outside of what was written on the scripts. The disrespect they did to Brandon Lee by redoing his part in such a horrible way, is just mind blowing.

This movie could of been good. It could of been fantastic. But instead, after all these years of waiting, we get this trash. I could give this a negative 20 stars if possible.

DO NOT watch this even if you are not a Crow fan… the story was jumbled, distorted and had no meaning. The acting was a joke. Even the VFX was sub par.

Odie 6 points 11 months ago. 1/5 stars.

Nope cant finish it.

kronickurves 5 points 11 months ago.

Only got half way through myself. Dang

IamBlue 4 points 10 months ago. 1/5 stars.

What a waste of film

Odie 4 points 11 months ago. 1/5 stars.

This was……bad.

Arcangel2020 6 points 1 year ago. 1/5 stars.

I have seen an advance screening..and let’s just say this, if you’ve never seen the 90ies era original version (with Brandon Lee and a MOST excellent Soundtrack)? Meh, maybe you will be entertained and think it’s “Original”. If you are a fan of the original? Well, this one belongs in the (Garbage) Dumpster Bin with the other remade Classics (Roadhouse, Pointe Break, Red Dawn, Poltergeist, The Longest Yard, The Fog etc, etc..)

michaelmyers 7 points 1 year ago.

HALLOWEEN!’’’’’ as well f these remakes red dawn ‘’’ also its called writers block ! no one can come up with anything good anymore ! 80’s -90 ‘s done it best ! prove me wrong and ill and ill send u a copy of a blank VHS ‘’! HA HA HA HA !

kerfy 4 points 11 months ago.

fully agree this one is just crap..

Odie 2 points 11 months ago*. 1/5 stars.

I draw the line at dissing Adam Sandlers The longest yard. How didnt you take that seriously? Dont you know cinema? Terry Crews was at peak performance during that film, Not to mention Joey Diaz.

Lily23 7 points 11 months ago.

Seeing as the original Longest Yard was out in 1974 (shout out to Burt Reynolds, Eddie Albert & the amazing Bernadette Peters) the 2005 remake would not fall in my scorning of remade beloved films of the 80s & 90s :P

Lily23 2 points 1 year ago.

That isn’t too surprising to hear but, at the same time, still disappointing. I will do with this the same thing I’ve done with all the remakes of my beloved 80s & 90s movies: Not Watch It

Thanks for the head’s up

kintaru -2 points 1 year ago.

Well no live ammo got used, accidently killing the lead this time. That a plus already

trillianregina 2 points 1 year ago.

Brandon Lee was killed by a blank round, not live ammo.

killamunk 1 points 11 months ago.

someone had mistakenly left a real bullet tip lodged in the barrel of the gun

hateorade 4 points 11 months ago.

it was a fragment of something that was in a blank, it wasnt a live round

killamunk 0 points 11 months ago.

thanks for repeating what ive said with different words

hateorade 3 points 11 months ago.

seems i missed the word tip in your comment. oh well

~Dime~ 3 points 11 months ago. 1/5 stars.

No one left a real bullet in the gun. Lee was shot in the abdomen with a piece of a dummy bullet left in the gun’s barrel from an earlier scene. The blank cartridge (Which was not made properly, and had a fragment left inside of it) fired the fragment with the force of a real bullet, striking Lee from about 15 feet away. Where he was shot, there was no saving him sadly. Also. Saying that ‘No one was killed in this manner this time’ is truly in bad taste.

wuchi51 4 points 11 months ago.

sorry to correct you but look up the actor
Jon-Erik Hexum who shot himself with a blank loaded gun when he put it too close to his head and pulled the trigger asa joke

magically_delicious 1 points 11 months ago. 2/5 stars.

Dudes, a dummy bullet is not the same as a blank, and Brandon died from an undischarged dummy bullet, not a blank.

Boraes 3 points 11 months ago.

Incorrect. Blanks can be lethal at close range and still cause injury up to 20ft away as they do eject some minor shrapnel and metal fragments. If you’ve seen a blank some are basically a normal casing that’s been crimped and just missing the bullet.

tardisrider 1 points 11 months ago.

there is a paper wad used to hold the charge in on a blank when fired the wad leaves the gun at the same velocity as a bullet

~Dime~ 2 points 11 months ago*. 1/5 stars.

No. If it is made correctly, the paper will go up in flames in seconds. A blank is made to be safe, even at close range. The reason behind Lee’s death was many. For one, they made their own blanks from real bullets due to lack of funds, and some were made incorrectly. The reason behind Lee death was because a piece that broke off from a blank from an earlier shoot was not removed from the barrel of the gun (Again the bullet was made wrong and should of never broke apart and then the negligence from the crew) which is what shot out and killed Lee.

There is so much miss information floating around on this subject. Saying a blank can be deadly at close range is also just not correct if it is a properly made blank.

magically_delicious 3 points 11 months ago. 2/5 stars.

I adore Bill Skarsgård, but this script was awful. The characters are not fleshed-out and the whole premise in direction is convoluted and chaotic. What a disappointment.

GeminiSaga 3 points 11 months ago. 1/5 stars.

An insult to the original movie.

ffRyDe'85 3 points 11 months ago. 1/5 stars.

That was actually worse than I expected.

kronickurves 5 points 1 year ago.

So the reimagined Crow 2024 has a Viking mullet : ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1340094/ For Me the long hair around his face is a part of The Crows character. It’s how he hides from the world…

yellow_rose1 8 points 1 year ago.

Hollyweird seems incapable of make something original. Most movies now are either remakes, prequals or sequels.

uuman 2 points 11 months ago.

It’s not that they’re all incapable. It’s that the execs don’t have the balls to do anything that isn’t some how an existing, popular IP. In the past they wouldn’t touch it if they didn’t have a major star or famed director. The real problem is, they think EVERYTHING needs to be a blockbuster. A season for a tv show now rivals the most expensive movies ever made. Every movie is treated like it’s reasonable to expect it to earn a billion dollars. And it’s only compounded by the fact that the creatives don’t respect the projects they’re forced to work on, believing they can do better than the original creators that made the IP popular to begin with.

ThinMan 4 points 1 year ago*.

I hope that’s not the case. Danny Huston & Bill Skarsgård are really wonderful actors. I LOVED the original, and agree that it probably wasn’t necessary, but it might be a really excellent re-imagining. It can’t be any worse than watching Jason Statham be typecast, or watch the Expendables part XXII. The only thing worse is people voting on something that hasn’t even been released. Jeesh.

Christmasstar 1 points 1 year ago.

The crow’s character and not the crows.

RedGinger 4 points 11 months ago.

This is one of the worst WORST Primewire films I have ever seen!

Alien 3 points 11 months ago.

This isn’t a Primewire film.

tardisrider 1 points 11 months ago.

if you think this is bad wait till you watch the flash lol js

grape nehi 1 points 11 months ago.

after looking at your library I highly doubt that. lol

DanoJones47 2 points 11 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This was like a Crackle version of John Wick. I got zero Crow vibes from it. Now I’m gonna go watch Brandon Lee— and then Baba Yaga Keanu.
I know this was free—-but I still want a refund. A refund on the time I wasted watching this.

wexxam 2 points 11 months ago.

how can they make this?

kerfy 2 points 11 months ago.

seems like this movie is bombing heavily ..

dampyiel2200 2 points 11 months ago.

I re watched the original because I hadn’t seen it in years. I like this version more. For people saying this doesn’t even compare to the original. When’s the last time you watched the original? Its not as good as I remember it being.

[deleted]
hellsingfan01 1 points 11 months ago.

I watched the original movie for the first time a few days ago and I can say that the original movie beats out anything that this movie tries to do you say that it’s a weak Disney film well that must be one messed up Disney film as the original film is alsorts of messed up if anything it’s this film that comes across as being a slightly more mature Disney film and not the original film.

dampyiel2200 3 points 11 months ago*.

Idk man. Comparing the two. The original barely goes into the relationship he had with his GF. The flashbacks reminded me of the south park episode. Where the teacher kept having flashbacks of the woman saying “Richard”. Just a basic my woman died horribly so now I need to get revenge. The newer version actually fleshed out the relationship probably a bit too much if I’m honest. With the action the older version to me personally was boring and a bit cheesy. The newer one I’ve already said in a different comment don’t feel like saying that again. But that’s just 2 cents lol. Both are good crow films for different people. Edit the older version isn’t as bad as recent Disney though lol.no where close to that bad.

hellsingfan01 3 points 11 months ago.

The original gi9ves you all you need to know about there relationship you don’t need to know how they met or any of that stuff sometimes less equals more.

dampyiel2200 0 points 11 months ago.

To each thier own 👍

t981x 2 points 11 months ago.

Said this when the trailer first came out why remake the original. Would be much better if they just made this another sequel.

Akrimaya 2 points 1 year ago.

I doubt this will stand out like the original but I’ll give it a try.

ThinMan 1 points 1 year ago.

Danny Huston and Bill Skarsgård ?? Say no more. We’re into it.

Blumsy420 1 points 11 months ago*.

Ok deleted my comment because I didn’t like that they made the main female lead character black when she supposed to be a white character !I’m a black man saying that so why is that wrong!

hellsingfan01 2 points 11 months ago.

It’s not wrong but at the same time it’s also not something that really effects the story of the film either ye being true to the comic book is a good thing but at the same time this change is so small minuet that it’s hardly the film biggest issue.

hellsingfan01 1 points 11 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This film just comes across as trying to hard to be cool whereas the original film just was cool with this film also not being that fun to watch with it trying to be adult which just comes off of not really being an adult themed film and the fact that it takes a whopping thirty minuets of this one hour and forty minuet film just for Eric and his fiancée to die is just another sign of just how badly done this film really was.

dampyiel2200 1 points 11 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I kind of thought that too. That it took too long before he actually became the crow or whatever. But after thinking about it for a bit I changed my mind. He is doing all this because he loved his GF he cared about nothing else besides her. . They had to flesh that out a ton or it would of felt hollow. Would just feel like him going on a murderous rampage because he is will have cool action scenes. Also towards the end in the opera house I thought those scenes were pretty badass. He seemed so menacing to me. I kept thinking man how terrifying wolverine and Deadpool would be in real life. You can’t do anything to stop them. They just keep coming.

hellsingfan01 2 points 11 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Except in the original film they got all of that across in about fifteen minuets and not around the forty minutes that it takes this film to cover that exact same story.

dampyiel2200 1 points 11 months ago.

Eh maybe. I don’t really remember the first one. I’ll re watch it and maybe that will change my mind on this one.

hellsingfan01 1 points 11 months ago.

Fair enough.

vky 1 points 11 months ago. 4/5 stars.

I have not read anything related to Crow. As a complete newbie. This movie is worth a watch. It is no Oscar nomination material but its worth a watch.

skoooper 2 points 10 months ago. 2/5 stars.

irony right???

Dvora 1 points 11 months ago. 3/5 stars.

I think giving this a score of 3/5 is generous. In my opinion the first one was so much better. There was a sense of mystery and passion in the first one that this version just does not have. This Eric was a boy, the Eric in the first film was a man. The original Eric oozed mystery, power and passion; this Eric seemed to need so much motivation just to get the audience to believe he was doing it for love. And this movie lacked the emotional intensity of the first one, and instead, opted for lots of blood/guts/gore to impress the audience. I could make so many more comparisons; it just boils down to this movie being good, but it was not nearly as good as the original.

Christmasstar 1 points 4 months ago.

I liked it, realy i did. Maybe cause i miss the crow movie.

Sally 1 points 10 months ago.

Thank goodness we’re up and running 😁

dampyiel2200 1 points 11 months ago.

Well let’s see if this is any good.

dampyiel2200 6 points 11 months ago.

This is worth a watch. I liked it quiet a bit. But I’d wait for a better quality cam before watching. Gets pretty blurry in parts. The sound is fine and overall it’s watchable but I’d wait.

Odie 1 points 11 months ago. 1/5 stars.

If your all so uncreative to make the same bullet joke maybe move on?
