It’s back!
Yay! It’s finally back! 🎉👍
I just re-watched… looking forward to troubled blood
British actors Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger will return for the next instalment of JK Rowling’s gritty crime drama Strike. I have a feeling season 6 will be the last one.
Good news recently:
On 7 February 2022, the BBC announced that both Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger would be reprising their roles for a fifth series entitled Strike: Troubled Blood. It will once again comprise four 60 minute episodes directed by Susan Tully.
Very good show, looking forward to the 5th season.
Some places (IMDB.com for example) are listing the “Troubled Blood” as season 4 because they have combined the above season 1 and 2 episodes as being just season 1. Possibly that’s due to airing difference in the UK and US. Like a few other shows on here, this is going to make it a bit of a confused mess. :(
Season 6 drops on 12/16/24.
For the life of me, I can’t remember if I watched all 5 previous seasons. I know I watched some of them.
Woot! Love this show, so glad they keep it going.
It’s so funny how we still have series coming back from before the pandemic. I read somewhere that in some cases it’s because the main characters took other work and they had to wait for them to be available again. Then in some cases, they gook permanent new jobs, so we were just left hanging with no new episodes.
Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott are back in business as cameras are set to roll on Season 6 of JK Rowling’s Strike later this month. Deadline hears that the BBC and HBO detective drama will begin principal photography on February 12, with Tom Burke reprising his role as a war veteran turned private detective. Holliday Grainger is also back as Strike’s business partner. The BBC is yet to confirm the Season 6 renewal but is expected to make an announcement later this month. Brontë Film and TV, the company established to adapt Rowling’s books, is producing. HBO is back on board after co-producing Season 5, with Cinemax involved in previous seasons.
Still no word on release of Season 6, other than it had started filming earlier this year. Looking forward to it with both leads back. Hopefully it does well, and we see it extended further with books 7&8. Such a great series, and the leads (Burke and Grainger) make it such.
Well, season 5 reminds of the movie 8mm. That movie unnerved me and I knew there were/are a lot of sick people in this world!
The new story arc is out, kinda snuck up on me.
Robin and Stick are back with a new case, or rather a cold case.
CaptKSKS, thank you so much for posting this comment. I thought surely it had been canceled. Will watch it once I’ve finished watching Alex Rider.
Both Burke and Grainger have said they will keep coming back to the characters as long as Jo keeps writing them, and the only delay is the speed in which she can write them. With WB winding down the Fantastic Beasts franchise, maybe she will have more time to write more Strike.
I sure hope so and I’m watching the first episode of season 5. Starting really good!
Just caught up, and impatiently awaiting Season 6. Seems I did watch S1 & S2 before, but I watched them again anyway.
Recently binged all of the seasons again, for fun, good timing on S6. Looking forward to seeing these two back at it, 2 great roles for 2 under-rated actors.
