I know I didn’t watch it in 2017, think I’ll watch it this weekend despite the one negative comment.

The Village (2004)
LucidLady 4 points 4 years ago.

I never understood why this movie gets so much hate. I think it’s because everyone expects every shyamalan movie to have a big twist at the end - and considered it a fail for not having said twist? But the Village isn’t meant to be a twist ending. It’s just a story. A really good story! It’s always been one of my fav movies.
Don’t hate it just because it’s a Shyamalan movie. That’s unfair. The visuals are beautiful, the acting is wonderful, the story is so so interesting, and the pace is just right.

Piglet 1 points 1 month ago.

I just read an article about this movie, and I remember going to the theater to watch it. It also had some up-and-coming actors. Adrien Brody, Jesse Eisenberg, Brendan Gleeson (a well-established actor), Jayne Atkinson (a good character actor). I think I might watch it again and of course this movie doesn’t have that “gotcha” feeling like The 6th Sense but still worth watching in my opinion.

The Shadow (2024)

This show is brilliant! I love it! The blind girl and the indebted vampire is a great story. Gao Wei Guang is perfect as Mr. Shen and the role of Mi Lan played by Oulang Nana could not have been a better choice. Together they have incredible chemistry. There is something ethereal about Mi Lan and Mr. Shen is the perfect, handsome and regal vampire. You won’t find anything this good on western television.

You are right, I stopped watching a long time ago, but I do check in now and then…WM, RR, and occasional other ppv’s. To argue the 2010-present storylines are on par with the mid 90s-early 2000s is blasphemy. It’s not ‘just the violence’ where did I claim that?
Its the fact that PH paved a lane for the greatest era in pro wrestling. The stone cold example, was just one valid point. WCW and WWF didnt know what to do with alot of their stars, hense the migration to wcw.
And im sure Cena,HHH n whoever else u named LOVED pg WWE because they made more money on their merch to kids than any other era.
“if u think PH heyday were in ecw…Blah blah” another comment I never said or even referred to..
I did say the current WWE is marketed to a younger crowd, if you can’t see that yourself when one of their biggest stars carries a giant highlander sword around, Logan Paul has a US title belt, along with Sami Zayn, and Bayley…Lol I rest my case. Enjoy it if ur into that buddy

Thanks for you decently and open worded reply…. Thats what makes opinions and viewpoints so great. yo specifically mentioned WWE Paul and not “show his as” Philly Paul, which to mean means you think that was where the focus should have been. I would NEVER put the 2010 till 2022 story lines on par with the late 90s…However, i would put the current storylines on par with them or even call them better. As most people call it the Paul Levesque era which came a long way after the PG and NEW era”s of the late 2000s and 2010s. The aforementioned stars did not mention merch sales at all, but the fact they had to improv and really work on storylines instead of just spout vile words and show violence. That is basically what the Attitude era was. Watch any old RAW and count the times the word Ho or slut was used for example… Do i think the attitude Era was great? Yeah i do as i liked Austin and the Rock.. did not give 2 cents about DgenX and many others. Same way i did not particularly liked ECW apart of RVD and to a much lesser extend Sabu…..Personally i am happy Paul Heyman has become whom he has become as he evolved, went with the times and is now more relevant then ever before. I dare say WWE would be in serious trouble without him having a segment especially 1-2 years ago…i think he was THAT epic that, yes, he saved WWE during that time with everything that as going on….

wow..i have no idea what TEKX360 was referring too, but i am pretty sure he meant absolutely nothing like you are insinuating in your post. I think all he wanted to say was is that Paul Heyman is an epic persona which is impossible to showcase in short biography…. And if you still think WWE is marketed to kids you have not been watching for a while..The PG era as WWE has called it ended mostly in mid 2010s and major wrestlers like Cena. HHH, Angle and Edge have all been on record stating that they liked it as they had to become creative and more based onstorylines then just “violence”……and if you think Paul Heymans heydays where in ECW then you do not undertand or appreciate the excellence of the person AND persona of Paul Heyman, which is exactly where we come back to Tekx360 his comment tht it cant cover his epicness….

Hitler waved to him so its all cool now? is that what your saying?

Zman 2 points 1 month ago.

No, the point was that the US at the time lied about his reception in Germany…and said that Hitler was enraged that a black man beat an Aryan. The same story was told continuously and often until Owens set the record straight. Especially concerning the reception he received when he came home in comparison. I don’t know why you would intend to change the entire meaning of my post. After Grasshopper’s post I might just watch it.

Cheeeeze Sauce… this episode was one of the most confronting & triggering moments in TV - How many women have found themselves in this impossible situation… and then been judged as the one that did wrong. I could hardly breath. Thought this show was supposed to be a comedy. It made my blood run cold. The actors did an incredible job, and whoever wrote this scene has managed to convey a level of manipulation used on women that is frighteningly accurate. Micro moments of terror. Wow.

Gee, I wonder who Schumer is going to blame for this one being cancelled?
This makes two Streaming Platform Services where she has now had her “shows” cancelled. On Netflix? She tried to place the blame on Republicans and Trump supporters for the (extremely) low ratings her Standup show performances received, when in fact it was clear that people no longer thought her “comedic” routine was funny. Now she has failed on Hulu (Guess she can always try getting a gig on another Streaming Service Platform and failing there too)
Then there is her failed “acting” career, where each movie she has been in has been a Box Office bomb.
Maybe she can get her Uncle Chuck to get her a job working for someone in Congress…LOL!

I’m not a huge fan of Tom Cruise, but he will be making another WWII movie titled Broadsword and filming will start next summer. I will probably watch it because I’m a huge fan of WWII movies/tv shows. Broadsword is said to tell the story of “an S.O.E. operation and a marine captain who crashes in France and becomes the sole survivor. Against all odds, he must complete his mission amidst the chaos of war.” Henry Cavill is set to star alongside Cruise, with Marion Cotillard eyed to play the female lead.

Man, I’m so burnt out on this BS on weapons that just don’t work this way….I don’t even know why I even know why I even bother any more. If your going to make a movie about a war or war fighting, at least have the courtesy to at least get the weapons right, and not have a hand grenade blow a whole building up, or at least change a 30 round magazine now and again.

And how many people just stop and die from a ‘shoulder wound’, really? Please…Enough, already. People that have fought in wars know better. This is just sickening. Do it, and do it right. Make people understand what it’s like to fight one of these, and maybe we will have less of them.

Maybe….

Probably another propaganda filled pack of lies. We were told Jesse Owens was dissed and denigrated in Germany during the 1936 olympics. But, should one read HIS account of the events, one reads a completely different take. He said he was treated well in Germany, not accosted…that Hitler actually acknowledged him and waved to him after his win. But, when he came home, Roosevelt ignored him and never met with him…and he still had to ride in the back, use black restrooms and eat at black only restaurants. The same happened with black US veterans after the war.

I’d watch it before I condemned it. Eric Brown is listed in the credits. He was the British pilot that later came forward to confirm that Hitler had congratulated Owens and shaken his hand when he encountered him outside the stadium. It’s not surprising that Hitler and the Germans were well-behaved while the eyes of the world were on them. All nations propagate their own distorted narratives while suppressing ugly truths that cast them in an unfavorable light, but the US and Germany were masters of such.
