Oddity (2024)
Danfis 2 points 1 month ago.

Oddity had an intriguing balance between super natural and mystery homicide, a well developed script, clever twists, beautiful and atmospheric imagery and great acting from everyone involved. It really felt like they swung for something unique here and I personally think they succeeded. You know it was a successful experience when you leave the theater with a phone full of unchecked notifications and only 1/3 of your popcorn gone.

Fungi: The Web of Life (2023)
mkmikas 2 points 1 month ago.

been hankerin for this lovely short treatise on fungi since i heard about it.. featuring bjork and merlin sheldrake. i find merlin much more palatable that rupert, i read his book and it had very little fanciful speculation compared with rupert sheldrake who merges science and spirituality, i feel that merlin is more scientistic, in a good way. And i dont really mean to disparage rupert, what a childhood merlin and siblings must have had! but it is so interesting seeing him come up after having such a significant father and going more sciency. similar to hamilton morris in a way, and perhaps dennis mckenna. this sensitive media adjacent new wave intelligentsia of the west

Wow Scarlett is so catty in this episode. We she is in most of them but she really has a hate on for Vicky. She’s becoming an inmate and loosing sight of why she is really there. Bullying this woman Vicky is so petty and childish.

What an engaging little movie!
Granted, they don’t have the production values big studios have. But with the acting, cinematography, editing, and sound effects, I bet they are having lots of fun during the production!

Well then I guess that you could say that this was an explosive episode and really those final twenty minuets really were a great set up to the season finale which is most likely going to be fire and other fire related puns lol.

Star Trek: Section 31
hellsingfan01 2 points 1 month ago.

Like alot of you just seen the trailer and this looks nothing like Star Trek if anything it looks like a generic action film that just so happens to have the Star Trek IP and name attached to it on the plus side more Michelle Yeoh.

Then the prosecutor in both cases says after they were both exonerated, well nobody died meaning the innocent men he put on death row. Not ever thinking that Christina would not have been murdered if they had done their jobs right in the first place. It is so unfortunate how the murder victims get lost in the travesty of it all

The Muppets Mayhem (2023)

It’s odd that people want that dreadful show The Acolyte to get a season two but yet they won’t even mention this actually good show that should have gotten a season two seems like Disney really has it in for The Muppets.

Wow that was so difficult to listen to. These poor babies. They were just babies. Never had the chance to ride a bike or go to school. This scumbag not only did these crimes but let 2 innocence men take the blame and do time and some of the worst prisons in America, in the deep south. The Lord will be his judge for sure. Its a strategic advantage for the U.S. to have an ally half way across the world if shit hits the fan to have a place to reside/stage “if needed” too defend against a major threat.

You ever play the board game Axis & Allies

Yeah I was going to add that to my comment
That’s what I’ve heard mostly our strongest ally in the region. But the crap they are doing there seems evil. cant they still be our ally if we tell them to stop killing all these people. I get hamas is an extremist group . But everyone there is not hamas. That’s like saying all Americans are school shooters. And thank you for your input hopefully other people will comment also.
Edit
Oh yeah I played axis and allies when I was younger all I can remember about it is that it took hours to set up lol.

This isn’t meant to make anyone angry or start a fight. I’m genuinely confused about the US stance. And anyone with knowledge on this subject or even thier own thoughts on the matter let me know. Even in messages. If need be. I just don’t get it. And the news and other random places never really give a reason just talking points. Or random bs.

Road House (2024)

I decided to watch this back to back with the original. Obviously it’s a completely different tone and pace of a film. The sound track is fantastic and really brought the vibe over from the other film while getting rid of the House Band concept. I liked the different bands that played.

Speeding up shots in certain points was pretty interesting. It added to the film, but switching back and forth to the point of view shots was too jarring and I found myself wanting to fast forward through them.

It’s much campier than the original, for sure. But it’s only horrible moments are the cheesy one liners in the last fight scene and —well every time McGregor jaunts onto the screen like a leprechaun Bojangles.

I honestly don’t understand why congress and the senate are so steadfast with Isreal. It has to be more than just campaign contributions doesnt it? I only know surface level stuff about this. But it seems pretty simple. Don’t kill civilians. Almost the entire world agrees with this besides the US. I just can’t wrap my head around why.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
cooksad 1 points 1 month ago.

I enjoyed the movie, but the only things that would’ve made it a 5 star instead of a 4 star for me is if they had written a more believable scenario for Silverfox and John Wraith vs Sabertooth.

Why stay in the car when you could just drive away from him and why fight him alone when you should know you can’t beat him without accessories or backup?

Those scenes could’ve been written better to make the outcomes more believable.

The whole thing with the warped version of Wade I just ignored it at that point.

Unless you happen to be an angsty 16-22 yo. Every generation growing up thinks that they will be the ones to save the world, but if you look around it would seem that none have been very successful so far.

DownrightDebonaire 1 points 1 month ago.

YEs and no. Every generation thinks they will fix it, but the previous generation are the ones writing and producing the shows. Gen X was spoon fed the epic hero formula and they in their rage against the machine angst….picked up the pen and made those same movies and shows for Gen Y and Z

Cheeeeze Sauce… this episode was one of the most confronting & triggering moments in TV - How many women have found themselves in this impossible situation… and then been judged as the one that did wrong. I could hardly breath. Thought this show was supposed to be a comedy. It made my blood run cold. The actors did an incredible job, and whoever wrote this scene has managed to convey a level of manipulation used on women that is frighteningly accurate. Micro moments of terror. Wow.

hellsingfan01 1 points 1 month ago.

The writer of this show is one Steven Moffat.

Brilliant just brilliant

One of the best mini series I’ve watched in a long while. The acting by everyone is absolutely top notch probably because the writing and direction is of an extremely high standard. Not to mention the editing which often goes without the praise it deserves. The emotional delivery of quick fire line after line demonstrates the quality of this show throughout. I’d usually call out the lead actors for their brilliance, but in this case everyone played an important and valuable role, however small, in making this an enjoyable watch to the very end, and watching to the end is so worth it, trust me. Highly recommended.

I am sure that company has good insurance on those drones, but yes, i am sure Brandon still pays quite a lot for all the stuff. Which leads me to think, a lot of people think this is fake or not totally real. Why would these companies risk their business to be fake? Take the drones, they have flown 3 different tests which resulted in a lot of loss, money wise. Plus, they have never successfully finished the job, which could make their company look bad, why would they do that on national TV? Same with the drilling company, those drill bits and the guy running the machine are very pricey. Why put your business name out there just to show failure and loss of money? One more, the science guy that was on there from USLC (I think that was the school), he said with certainty that it was a dire wolf. I find it hard to believe that an accredited college would allow one of their employees get on national TV and say something so crazy unless there was some truth to it. Even if they get paid in some form, it still looks bad on the school.

prism 1 points 1 month ago.

I agree with you on all points. I actually follow Sky Elements Drones on Facebook, they have some fantastic shows/displays and for sure they wouldn’t put their reputation on the line for a possible hoax. The biggest issue people have with the show (myself included) is that not all results are shown on air, the only way to get them is to join their website for like $80 a year. And even though I have respect for Travis, I think him being there is a conflict of interest. He works for the government (admitted the new contract I think at the beginning of season 2) so the NDA’s he’s signed prevent him from saying if they “really” find something. Which goes completely against what Brandon says he wants for the project. If/when they do find something of significance I seriously doubt we’ll be told.
