can maybe someone here help me. i know there’s some serious cinephiles/telephiliacs here so hopefully someone can help… when Arlo grabbed that cup and put it over the marbles. something just clicked like it’s SO familiar to me. has this or something like it been a movie or another series maybe? or does anyone know why it might seem familiar.
aside from that. i really like this so far but it’s got only 6 eps to go? it’s gonna be a rushed series to get a full stoy in 26 minutes. wow… wish they were longer happy to see Baker working. she was my “tv mom” for a few years way back when being glued to Picket Fences. good start in first two episodes

IMHO This series seems an awful lot like The Dome.

Yes and no. It’s a lighting feature of URE5. Basically, it allows the artist to lay mesh layers on surfaces that all auto-simulate shadow generation based on light simulation and ray tracing. It’s really just an evolution of treating light like it’s something which is simply there to treating it like it’s something which has its own unique, very complex system of physics. Bloom lighting functionally makes everything that is “being” lit up generate light itself. Pores would not be visible bc light is being generated from the holes as well. Then you layer single path lighting which would create shadows, but in regards to pores, it creates a VERY uncanny valley effect. You could see pores head on, but as soon as the face contours away from the viewers perspective, it begins to look like an absolute smooth surface due to the skin itself “generating” light.

It’s not AI, an artist can “easily” do it for an individual image, but a film or tv show has 24 individual images per second. It’s something you could do for a section of a film/show at great expense. Now an artist can input what they want for a singular image and the engine and hardware will apply those commands to all of those images for that sequence. It took something that was incredibly repetitive and time consuming and automated it. The artist is still absolutely necessary. They have to do the initial inputs and will have to make adjustments as things move within the scene, but they no longer have to manually repeat and adjust everything themselves for every frame. It’s about as much a form of AI as Microsoft Excel is. It allows you to automate the copy/paste process and adjusts it based on a curve.

O.K., so that explains it. A bit over my head, but truth be told, so is how AI does things, but would rather see it done this way, as there is still the human element involved. This was really well done, and that is a fact. I watched the entire thing pretty close to back to back, and really hope there is a continuation of this.

Oh no, this was pretty disappointing. I think they were going for the same funniness as found on old and new episodes of Frasier. The canned laughter cheapened it in a real bad way. I’ll try a couple more but I don’t think this is going to make my final cut. Such a shame too, Big Bang and YS were so damn good!!

Finished the movie and still confused. I’ve said this many times lately this movie maybe isn’t meant for me? But to think only women in the entertainment industry have to worry about beauty standards is insane to me. Once again maybe im missing the point and she is just a shitty person who doesn’t realize what she has? And that’s what’s the movie is about? I just don’t get it.

sidace 3 points 1 month ago.

I agree with you. They kept saying you are one person, but they had two separate lives which were not connected to each other. That’s why I got confused as well. When Elizabeth woke up she didn’t know what Sue had experienced. And all was at the costs of Elizabeth. So why even make that deal? She was suffering more than before. And the ending was just ridiculous. I was really looking forward to this, but I was left disappointed.

This honestly was a really good movie, and a great take on Hellboy. I am a long time fan of the Comics. Don’t get me wrong. The original two were pretty good movies, though they did not really scream Hellboy. The last film… meh. But this one. You can tell the people who wrote and directed it are fans. I can tell you I will be buying this when it comes out for sure. Easy 4 stars from me.

mkmikas 2 points 1 month ago*.

ya, like a high production fan film, much more along the lines of the comics in its theatre than the other films. the aesthetics of the comics would be difficult to do though as its pretty unique to mignola, but i think the other films were a little closer perhaps. i especially like mignolas use of shadow and tone, which this film emulates well… movie was decent, and for some reason i like the actor that was also in yellowstone.

Here is more information on the spinoff……Robert Taylor is set to play a recurring role in CBS’ new series, NCIS: Origins. Taylor who is best known for playing Sheriff Walt Longmire on the Wyoming crime drama Longmire for six seasons will play Jackson Gibbs, the strict father of Leroy “Jethro” Gibbs in Origins, which is set to premiere during the 2024-25 television season. Mark Harmon played Jethro in the original NCIS series, which featured the late Ralph Waite as Jackson. Austin Stowell is set to play the role of young Jethro in the upcoming NCIS prequel, which takes place in the 1990s. Harmon will narrate the show, which will co-star Kyle Schmid, Mariel Molino, Diany Rodriguez, Tyla Abercrumbie, Daniel Bellomy and Caleb Martin Foote.

I enjoy the battle sequences and I think the vehicles and mobile suits look very cool and well done. But the people are kinda wonky, What is up with their necks? This is interesting to view the story from the side of the Zeon and see that most do not know how the dukedom fooled side 3 and the Zeon population into thinking they where under Earth Federation oppression to go to war. Even though they had been independant from the Earth Federation for a very long time.

You are more then welcome to interpret my use of the word opposition as you see fit. The fact that you jump to the conclusion that I am speaking of anyone that has different ideals then I as the “opposition” say more about you then it does me. I veiwed you’re comment as “opposition” and somewhat antagonistic so it needed a fact checked. I am not a Christian nor am I devout in any religious beleif. That does not stop me from enjoying a good story. In my mind the opposition are the Jessie Smolettes and Bubba Wallaces of the world that stage beating or see racism and bigotry in everything and use it to garner sympathy and grievance clout among the grievance hucksters.
