A new Taylor Sheridan Western series to begin November 5th. This is a spin off from 1883. I wonder what happened to his other project, 6666?
Why do people keep calling this a spin-off? Bass Reeves was a real person and this is a bio pic. all his other shows are fiction.
I’ve been waiting for a Bass Reeves show for decades. It finally comes and I’m waiting to see what Sheridan does with the story. He is an important person in American history. Denzel’s Character is loosely based on him in Magnificent 7 and The Lone Ranger

Oh yes! Yes Yes! I started watching the opening, not having heard at all about this new show. I could see Taylor Sheridan all over it, wondered if it was in the Yellowstone universe but looked up the showrunner/writer Chad Feehan Yes, produced by Sheridan but Feehan who did Ray Donovan and Banshee, was encouraged to do this by Sheridan. if you do a search thewrap, has a good article on it. It’s going to be great I’m sure. @StarWisper 6666 has been put on hold. Sheridan wants to spend more time there, to get the story right.
And the actor who portrays Bass Reeves is British.

Just watched the first two..I’m hooked. There was a small introduction to Bass Reeves in 1883
Started off well, but just got weird and uninteresting about halfway through.
Very entertaining, I had never heard the story of Bass Reeves before. SPOILER ALERT..all the white people are evil and either die or get slapped in the face and all the minorities are saintly. Except Donald Sutherland of course, he’s untouchable lol :P
