I remember watching this as a kid, and liking it. I loved the original novella by John Steinbeck, as well.

I agree with all you said, its just not the same w/o Niles and Daphne and of course Mr. Crane and Eddie may they RIP. The actors are trying too hard to make it roll off the tongue with ease but its just coming across stiff and dry sadly.

Loved this. Took me back to my childhood during the 1970s with the newspaper cartoon strip in the daily and Sunday Comics page. Odie is also a delight. Those 2 always made a great team.

According to our pops & his brothers & sisters, The Orb had to hit the road not just to play shows, but to get jukebox owners to take his discs for their machines where-ever they were, diners, shops, gas stations, etc. Whenever he was out doing that, he’d stop by their house, eat & sometimes stay the night. Said he was aces all the way. And we all know about his voice & guitar work….

I totally agree. I had hoped that having Roz in this episode would make it great.. but it seriously fell short. I’d love to see Niles and Daphne back. Their “son” is the most unrealistic character in the new series. Truth be told.. I wish they’d lose the college and head back to the radio station. it lent it self to sooo much more funny comedic situations.

Good movie. Can’t go wrong with the cast. I don’t know who the young guy was in this. Didn’t recognize him. He is lucky as hell to work with Brad Pitt and George Clooney especially with a decent sized role.

not bad at all, pretty disturbing akin to se7en. dialogue is excellent. little bits of dark humour here and there. nice editing, colours etc. mother and daughter are terrific actors. strange show.

This was soo good then when it was released in 2013-2014 but it got chopped up after the first season. Just watched it again, such a pity. If it continued from where it left more than a decade ago, I would gladly watch it now. And such a good dynamic was going on between the two officers. Really, such a pity! 5/5

This is realy awful TV. Peter Jackson should have Mckay and Payne in court for copyright infringement for all of the shots and dialect that have been wripped of from his Hobbit and LOTR’s films. The Scripts is for a modern audiance, that sticks out a mile. The costumes are really bad. Moving the filming to the UK was a bad idea. Or they could have sourced better locations. Far to much Mown grass about for it to look realistic. I know that Peter Jackson set a high bar for Fantasy movies. But the $65 Million per episode is not being shown on the screen. Not to mention that the ‘back to the book’s’ wass all Marketing hype. Annatar is not Mentioned in the LOTR or the Appdices, so they don’t have permission to usesit. Yes I’m a Tolkien nerd!

The man has been found INNOCENT…he didn’t touch those psycho women who are lying about him. Just like Johnny Depp…NOT ALL “abusers” are guilty !

Dune: Prophecy (2024)
Dune as a realm is HUGE…for writers and directors to come, it is an endless pit of creation. How did they get to their planets? Who discovered the worms and properties of the Spice? etc.. But THIS looks fascinating for my curiosity! If its as good as I hope it to be , then ALL Dune fans should watch it prior to the Dune movies to get some insight into the power of Paul’s mother and the magical power of the women in Dune. Emily Watson is a great actress and seems perfect for this role. I cant wait for the Spice Prophecies to begin !

I also agree with you too. The college scenes are too forced, stiff and not funny, and the writers are too busy trying to check all the PC boxes that they cant make any of the lines flow smoothly, (as is all the writing these days smh) that their jokes are coming across flat IMO, and the cast doesn’t seem to mesh well together, and you’re correct about Niles and Daphne’s son ugh, he’s not even a good mixture of them both lol. Roz did bring a spark but there wasn’t enough of one to keep it rolling smoothly. I had high hopes from last season but it just isn’t gelling together, I doubt it goes past this season sadly.
