No surprise starz cancelled it

ShadowWolf 6 points 4 years ago.

🤬are you serious! They clearly gave up by season 2. Then I find out the book doesn’t really give away anymore than this did! Why even make this series in the first place! Seemed like they were saying tech boy was shadows other half… Said he was the connection between humans and Gods but I thought that’s what shadow was suppose to be, weird. I thought that would be the big twist because Lara would be too obvious… Hopefully it will get picked up by another network and they’ll make it right, I’m not counting on it … Such bs to make fans wait that long just for a letdown like G.O.T did lol, just not as epic! They should redo season 3 and bring the leprechaun back while their at it … Makes no sense they killed him off completely! Ugh so irritated…

just noticed…ENDED!!! Really?! Someone should hang for this!

Lyrad8791 4 points 4 years ago.

From what I read the directors had differing opinions on the direction from this point and couldn’t agree. End result is that they decided not to continue. Really disappointed in that decision, especially with that ending.

fessologue 2 points 4 years ago.

What a shame! no consideration at all for the fans!!

etim 2 points 4 years ago.

Yeah, but that ending left it wide open for someone to take it in a totally new direction. There’s so many new streaming svs out there, Someone’s bound to snag it.

fessologue 2 points 4 years ago.

That’d be nice! But just wishful thinking

etim 4 points 4 years ago.

We’ll see. Meanwhile, I’d rather hope than mourn.

fessologue 2 points 4 years ago.

Nice :)

Ashtré 4 points 4 years ago.

Hang the entire production staff. They started out with a great show and a great cast and, season by season, episode by episode, they sent it circling the bowl.

UGuess 3 points 4 years ago*.

Exactly..so unfortunate. It was a powerhouse up until this season, IMO. I really tried to hang in there but I gave up about 4 eps in. I even tried to come back, but even most reviews agreed with me. Perhaps they should’ve pulled out the last season to end on a much better note.

Ashtré 1 points 4 years ago.

I knew it was destined to be cancelled after the 1st season when 1/2 the cast and production crew left. Then they canned Orlando Bloom whose character was a huge selling point. The thing is this book wasn’t very long. This should’ve been a 2 season show. All the filler crap they added to it… They should’ve learned a lesson from watching the mess Game of Thrones turned into after there was no more source material. And hiring Marilyn Manson is NEVER a good idea. lol It was too far off the rails at the beginning of season 3.

UGuess 2 points 4 years ago.

This seasson was not like previous, this was no surprise for me.

Peevee 2 points 4 years ago.

Neil Gaiman has talked about wanting to shop the show to other networks/services but unless Peacock (or something like that) is desperate for an already established show, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

ezl88 5 points 4 years ago.

Did this show get a new showrunner after season 1/season 2? Season 3 feels so out of place and the show as a whole is pretty far off-base from the book at this point. Still entertaining, but there is quite a bit of filler that doesn’t work with the overarching plot. Loved the book and the show is still entertaining enough to keep watching, but it’s disappointing.

Euringer 4 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

New show runner, yes. They also fired Orlando Jones, so they had to frame those cool stories/flashbacks in a different way.

TreeofWoe13 3 points 4 years ago*.

Sooo much better than season 2 so far!It feels like the first season to me, which in turn feels like the book.

Saucer-People 4 points 4 years ago. 5/5 stars. (Contains Spoilers)

Excellent opening episode for season 3 and absolutely fitting and more than a little spooky how it’s exactly 20 years since the book came out, at a time when Big Tech was just learning to crawl and yet it seems almost like a blueprint for 2021:
“Distract, misdirect, make them give a fuck about what we say is important.
Your job is to provide and control the narrative.”
I don’t know if Neil has taken on a more hands on approach for this season as executive producer, but something has changed as it has that feel of the first season and while season 2 was nowhere near as bad as many suggest, I’m very optimistic about what’s to come.
The book is obviously not the series and obviously you don’t need to read it to grasp what’s going on but for fans of the series who want to augment their viewing experience, it is well worth your time.

NoelCoyotebleu 3 points 4 years ago.

The book was excellent.

Alien 3 points 4 years ago.

Yesssss! It’s back.

Quld 2 points 4 years ago. 5/5 stars. (Contains Spoilers)

Looks like Hera is getting invovled. Nice call back ancient Greece!

Sj 2 points 4 years ago. 5/5 stars.

yes, finaly it’s back

finigan1 -1 points 6 years ago.

love this show,it is messed up, just wish they had kept the original poster,it had a lot more to say then the new one, although the new one does point at him being, it is pretty obvious to me so I won’t say anything.

octoberswill 0 points 6 years ago. 5/5 stars. (Contains Spoilers)

Yeah, I prefer the Am I A God poster better…this one is too on the nose.

finigan1 0 points 6 years ago.

I was wondering what happened to this show, good to see from the links that season 2 starts next month. Its been almost 2 years after all.

Orlando Jones (Anansi) was also a writer for a lot of the script for his fellow actors according to several conversations he has had with people. I don’t know if he was a writer in Season 1 as well or not. He is no longer in the cast though so he will also no longer be a writer for the show, if that is where the difference between writing between the two seasons.

imnotacoward 1 points 4 years ago*.

No its because they ran out of source material.
Why you downvoting me im right

animage66 3 points 4 years ago*.

The show isnt even halfway through the book material. Hell season 2 was 90% show only plot.

imnotacoward 2 points 4 years ago.

Yes my point was they’re straying far away from the book

Fatal_Rage1 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

No, you got down-voted because what you said was offensive. Libtard? really? Calling someone a libtard is no different than calling someone “retarded” It’s discriminatory and offensive to anyone who has special needs, like my child.
