Holy crap I am so excited for this!

RoboPhone 3 points 4 years ago*.

Season 2 Of His Dark materials is the continuation of this exciting adventure, which is based on the novels by Philip Pullman.

Watch the TEASER——-HERE
THIS LOOKS AMAZING
His Dark Materials is one of the supreme works of imaginative fiction for both children and adults published in the 20th century. Northern Lights introduces Lyra, an orphan, who lives in a parallel universe in which science, theology, and magic are entwined. Lyra’s search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and turns into a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust.

Well, now! That Trailer makes me want to watch The City of Lost Children!

(Totally unrelated to this.)

gypsy soul 1 points 5 years ago.

I thought this was related to The Golden Compass

Siks 7 points 5 years ago*. 5/5 stars.

It is. The Golden Compass was book one of a trilogy, His Dark Materials. The movie kind of flopped because the story is brilliant and touches on almost every aspect of life, love, war, religion and truth, and two hours just isn’t enough time to do it justice. I’m glad they’re making a series so they can tell the story right

Canuckian -1 points 5 years ago.

Thanks for clarifying that Siks…i rather enjoyed the Golden Compass even though it did feel rushed and that there was a LOT missing…even for someone who never read the books it was based on, i got the feeling that a lot was left out…i echo the sentiment that making it into a series is a brilliant idea to allow them to fully explore the source material, providing BBC doesn’t stick their fingers too deep and change any of the source material to make it more “PC” since we all know the BBC is at the forefront of being “Progressive”…they completely ruined the last season of Dr.Who for me..not because the doctor was female, but because they were so blatantly pushing an anti-west agenda where alll things “American” are BAD…surely i wasn’t the only who saw that…anyways, after a few episodes i just couldn’t do it any more…it made me really sad because Dr.Who was one of my absolute FAVORITE shows and the BBC fukking ruined it. ugh. anyways, sorry about the rant lol..i hold out hope for this series since i have only heard all good things!

Lyrad8791 4 points 5 years ago.

Golden Compass was just the first part of three. They never made it to the second book of the series, so it was left unfinished.

fishingmad -2 points 5 years ago.

episode 2 and still BORED !!! They expect the audience to understand to much without any explanation as if this is only for those who have read the book . On top of that there isnt a single likeable character in it so far

jgutierrez 5 points 5 years ago.

what I got out of this whole thread is “Billybigbaws” and “daft moonfruit”…both insults of which I will steal. thank you for that. carry on, cheers

Peevee 4 points 4 years ago.

I call people “daft moonfruit” 🌙 all the time now! I love it!

It also sounds delicious 😋

fattytheklown -11 points 5 years ago.

then dont fucking watch
we dont want you watching it anyways if thats how you are going to feel

fishingmad 3 points 5 years ago*.

whoa!!! ya daft moonfruit , I gave it a go and dont like it and you are that arrogant you think you can abuse me for not liking something you do , what a tool . “ we dont want you watching “ who’s we ? the pathetic no life brigade who get all triggered over childrens Tv PROGRAMMES ?? get a fucking life

Canuckian 5 points 5 years ago.

Sorry, but “daft Moonfruit”? LMFAO!! I am absolutely stealing that and making it my new insult! Cheers mate lol

octoberswill 2 points 5 years ago.

yeah…I’m guessing you are Scottish or know about a certain comic…

fishingmad 3 points 5 years ago*.

Yes Scottish and completely intolerant of arse bubbles like him who think they can bump their gums and act all billybigbaws just because theyre on the internet , added to which for some infathomable reason he thinks his opinions trump all others?????

octoberswill 0 points 5 years ago.

as a woman in america I can relate.

fattytheklown -8 points 5 years ago*.

it has nothing to do with the internet i would talk this way to you if i was in front of you

fishingmad 2 points 5 years ago.

Typical response from a typical keyboard warrior , as you know there is very little chance indeed we will ever meet face to face 1. you would never want that to happen 2. your carer wont let you out on your own 3 I suspect the only time you raise your voice is to shout to your mum to bring you more dessert , you will continue to talk shite from the safety of your bedroom

greyfur 1 points 5 years ago.

I’m swiping that too! My God, that’s freaking awesome, hell, I’m writing that down, just to make sure I don’t forget!

stormbringer 2 points 5 years ago.

ikr? I already called my daughter that once tonight… cracked her the fuck up lmao

fattytheklown -10 points 5 years ago*.

its about a war on god its not for children its full of death and heartache and its the internet i can say whatever i like just like in the real world anyone can say anything and theres nothing you can do about it

OptimusPrimeWire 1 points 5 years ago.

Hooray! They’ve condensed a two-hour movie into eight hours of a tv show and we get to watch it over a span of a month-an-a-half… After waiting over a decade for an on-screen adaptation of the two books following the Golden Compass, how dare anyone complain that this show has a George RR Martin-style of milking a story

deadheadmark1 1 points 4 years ago. 4/5 stars.

I agree Optimus! But I did feel a comparison. Marisa reminds me of Jaime Lannister… hoping he would do the right things, and he did. But would go back and do something sinister. More like Cersei…has a passion and a cold heart. Most of all was seeing how fav’s were killed off George was good at that. Drama for ya!

Piglet 1 points 2 years ago.

I watched season 1 and forgot to watch season 2. Now I’m going to have to go back and watch season 1 again then watch season 2 and I hope I get through both seasons before season 3 starts on December 5th. McAvoy is such a versatile actor and I’ve yet to see him screw up a character!

BTETW -3 points 5 years ago. 5/5 stars.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
