It’s ok I’m on ep 8 pretty decent, better than so many crappy stuff on right now. I knew some was filmed in Sudbury Ontario(I use to live there) when I saw the LEDO Hotel and the Silver Bullet, lol so I looked on IMDb and was right.
I’m out. I gave it a couple of episodes but it’s turning into a melodrama with a bit of blood. It checks almost every box when it comes to cliche characters, none of which are remotely likeable. It’s like a mix of Helix/The Strain with a bad case of The Ships cheesy writing style and OTT dramatic delivery.
Well they did pick the most smoldering Vamp this side of Twilight to star, lol. I get that he’s not a vamp but the dude is not helping his effort to pervent being typecast down the road. You gave me goosebumps by saying it’s a mix Of Helix and The Strain, Two of the best genre related shows of the past 20 years. Dammit now I have to google why Helix got the axe, had heard a season 3 was coming but that was years ago. Still can’t deal with The Passage being canceled either, They had a whole book series to mine info from, instead it looks like they changed it to this since the synopsis both sound the same, minus the child.
My thoughts exactly. Very similar to the passage and it will probably be cancelled as well. The strain started very good but ended up stupid. They took the easy ending that a lot of shows do. Kill the main vampire/alien ect and the rest die. That’s it game over we win,its Been done a hundred times. It’s how they ended falling skys after 5 seasons.
Yeah all been done before, the thing I don’t like that’s a uniquely American thing is in all these shows the government is always bad. Always up to some thing ect. Gets boring
@irishmark, the reason the American government is always bad in all these shows, is because the American government IS always bad in real life.
eff 12/05 : Netflix Just Dropped a 10-Episode Brand New Vampire Apocalyptic Series!
Starring Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries) and Laura Vandervoort (Bitten)
Sink your …er… Teeth into this Juicy Official Trailer HERE
Somerhalder was a Guest on The Originals but he was The Vampon Vampire Diaries, A show that spun off The Originals after Klaus was featured in season #, If I’m remembering correctly, also Legacies is a spin off of both with the shows lead playing the part of Klaus daughter as she attend the Salvador School, the former home of the vampire brothers from Vampire Diaries.
You’re right. Thanks. I made the correction.
Come on you Creepy AF lurkers, just 3 more DV and this post, full of nothing but Facts by the way, will go the way of the spoilers. I knew this would happen cause of who I corrected, just because you won’t step up doesn’t mean your not transparent as hell. Although I could be wrong and their is no clandestine robo army patrolling the comments, Maybe the DV are because I spelled his last name as Salvador instead of Salvatore. Tootles.
u guys are on fire, only took u 21 hours. gotta be a new record. pat each other on the backs. U rule!
Members of PW, we do realize that if you don’t like a show then we have a 5 star voting system right under the Poster for said show, right🤷♂️🤷♀️.So for ant that may be a little slow🐌,if we don’t like a particular show or movie then we can express that with the star system👌🏼, not by DVing every single post in the comment section🤔. I understand the confusion, it’s a hard concept to grasp, hope this has cleared things up for everyone.👍🏽
Liked this show, hopefully there will be a season 2!!!
Just finished it myself, and rather liked it as well. Everybody dissing this and talking about the Passage never bothered to give it a chance. This went way past that show, and turned into something better I thought somewhere along the way.
Got rather interesting the last couple episodes. Rather liked having something that had more plot and acting then just a lot of gore and flash bang for a change, though there was just enough of that to keep you interested for the sake of that as well.
I know the…well, won’t go there, would have to mark this as a spoiler, hate doing that. But still, hope there is a second season as well, this turned out to be good enough for me to want to see a bit more, see if they can do a bit more with it.
Totally agree with you, they need to do more with it. It has good potential for a better second season. Most great shows have crappy 1st season till all progresses. Have a good day
I found this series to be incredibly tame and predictable, I’m sorry to say. I was really looking forward to something that had a bit of spiciness and gore, no such luck. It is not a bad series, it’s just the Brady Bunch of horror, complete with a Rob Lowe look-alike. It is a passable time filler for me, nothing more.
I’m on ep3 (edit: ep5) and so far there’s nothing much to get excited about or that I haven’t seen a half dozen times before. Quality is about on par with a weekly broadcast tv show, with unremarkable writing, acting and production.
Only been able to watch the first episode so far, but it don’t seem all that bad to me, worth watching for what it is. Actually, it’s getting kind of hard to find something along this line of show that hasn’t been done, or that might be considered ‘innovative’ in some way, I’m thinking this kind of show, the whole vampire thing, has probably been pretty much done into the ground.
Best we can hope for at this point is somebody just putting out a really good movie or series that has good acting and a good script, maybe a few good plot twists just to keep you guessing. might be this isn’t the one, but I’m willing to give it another episode or two before I call it quits.
I’m 99% sure you have already seen this but on the off chance you somehow missed it, try The Strain. I agree with your comment about being done to death and the Strain was like a breath of fresh air. It was helmed by Guillermo del Toro if you needed any more convincing. Funny how I’m sick to death of all these Vamp and Zombi shows, yet every time a new one is announced I get excited, lol. I’m looking forward to watching this even though the synopsis sounds just like the show from last January, The Passage, minus the child.
I’m several more episodes into this now, and rather liking it, seems it’s more into the acting and plot then the flash bang and such, which I’m rather liking at the moment.
Saw the strain, really liked that, miss it. Was well done, from start to finish, always liked Del Toro’s work, always a great job from that guy! Never let’s you down!
Better check your pulse, etim.
That got really stupid really fast
Mediocre show. I watched a couple episodes and most likely wont bother finishing the season as it’s just stale and average. It’s a shame because the books it is based on were really good and when I found out they were adapting it for a TV show I was hopeful, especially since another very similar adaptation “The Passage” got canceled. But, this show is just as blah average as that was. It’s always a let down when the source material creates so many great story possibilities and then the show runners don’t take advantage.
Acting, plot, characters, everything, is just average. I’d give it a 5/10. For a genre show to have on in the background while not really focusing it’s fine. But those hoping for a new world to inhabit or anything with depth will be disappointed.
This is terrible, what’s wrong with the acting? my wife and I didn’t know if it was a comedy or whether they were serious.
Then I realized that it’s just another one of these Canadian shows, they have to put out so much local content on Netflix.
First of all the writers must think we are all pretty stupid. There is an Arctic research station and the main character gets his buddy to fly him up there in a helicopter from New York???…….lol seriously a small helicopter wouldn’t be able to fly more than 300 miles without a refuel.
I gave it two episodes……….don’t waste your time.
