Under-the-radar gem that is thoroughly entertaining. Anthony Mackie of Falcon/Captain America fame does an excellent job giving this sci-fi story wonderful layers of complexity and depth.
I love time travel movies.
30min in
I REALLY DIG THIS.
This is the third installment of a continuity. Resolution, and Endless are the other two films from the same writers/director. though you dont need to see those movies to watch this, they all kind of fall into the same world.
Great info! Cheers Odie!!
Hey, I hate asking you for this, and have not watched this yet, though I fully intend to, and have it on my list, but went and looked for the other two movies you mentioned, and nothing seems to ‘fit the mold’ so to speak, can you give me years to go with the movies you mentioned so I can narrow it down a bit, there are several for each. Thanks…

Odie, on another note, almost watched ‘Endless’ once, from the description, then decided not to, but after going back, I looked at what some of the comments had to say, and really wished I had earlier. Also, a lot of people really seemed to like Resolution as well, and recommended the other based on that. Going to have to take a few days when I get the chance and try and watch them as a Trilogy. Thanks again for the help!
Just be aware that while they’re in the same universe and there are definitely links between them they aren’t at all what most would consider a trilogy.
They’re a good thematic trilogy but afaik this one is only directly linked in a single line of dialogue - still love these movies, and excited for their Daredevil project.
It seems like the theme that winds through all three movies is the nature and depth of male friendship. Time travel is the device or backdrop, but the bonds between best friends seems to be the subject.
I enjoyed all three, with their slow burn pace and unique filming choices. I can only think of one film that compares, “Primer”.
“Primer” explored the nature of friendship too, but in a more cynical way. It’s a movie essentially about how far can you trust your best friend with a time machine. I enjoyed the director’s interview about his conceit, which originally was not going to be a sci fi.

Oh, man, you and me both, been waiting for Daredevil for a good minute now…💪
Thanks for telling me.
Thanks, man, that’s even better, really appreciate you going the extra mile!
click on Justin Benson’s name where it says crew and they will show up
Just never occurred, thanks.
Teach a man to fish… lol
Next thing you know, he wants to borrow your rod and tackle box..🤣
I loved, loved, loved Resolution and Endless, but hadn’t ever heard or considered they were part of a Trilogy, so great info. I guess, for me, the main reason being that 1. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are not in this one, and 2. It’s not in the same classification exactly. The first two are remote locations out of time and space, and this one is not. I still love it, and I’ll take your word for it being part of a Trilogy! Thanks again.
I enjoyed the watch. The story kept my attention and the acting was believable. This is not a masterpiece by any means but it is good.
Really enjoyed that.
Very good acting helped lift the simple subplot.
Well worth watching.
Pretty good movie. Could’ve had a better ending or at least an extended one…
Woah, good movie! Glad I waited and somehow managed to see it w/out hearing a bunch of BS about it first. In 1080p to boot! 7.5/10
I thought the movie was a good sci-fi. It could have been better with a little more build-up of the characters but it was worth watching and I enjoyed it.
I loved this movie and gladly got a 1080p web rip version of it without any ad’s. I was skeptical at first after reading other reviews but damn what a great movie it turned out to be!
I loved it, made me think, just like movies should!
I’ve truly enjoyed everything these two have come up with!
Can’t wait for the HD versions!
good 1 time watch
I wanted to love this movie. It has Anthony Mackie AND New Orleans along with a dark, spooky plot. What’s not to love, right? Mr. Mackie is as awesome as we have come to expect. And for once the Hollywood machine produced a movie with a black man playing an intellectual. That’s not nearly as common as it should be. Also, NOLA isn’t the in-your-face tourist version of the city it is in so many movies. There is just the right amount of subtlety as a backdrop, which is good because I think using the city as an additional character here would have been too distracting. That’s the good.
Here’s the bad: this movie suffers many flaws. All relationships are abbreviated as though the director was impatient to get to the meat. Therefore, it feels rushed and watered down. Had this been a meaty-type movie it would make sense trim the fat but this film has no more depth than your average YA novel. Also, the dialog is flat, forced and uninspired.
And the ugly: the best analogy I can think of is this: Guinness in the US as opposed to Guinness in GB. And it’s also guilty of one of the latest movie tropes (spoiler alert below)…
…the dog is killed off (sort of) to elicit a cheap emotional response. That to me is the telltale sign of shortcuts taken in modern film.
I’m glad enough to have seen it to search out other Anthony Mackie movies I haven’t seen yet, but I can’t say I give this one a good review. A solid C.
I expected a lot more from this movie. It was nowhere near as interesting as I thought it would be. To me it was just really boring. I guess I was expecting it would be more about the experiences of time traveling through random times in history and the repercussions, but it was just about going back in time a few times for a few minutes to find a lost girl.
FANTASTIC CONCEPT BY FAR THE BEST MOVIE IDEA 2020-2021 GRADE A ACTING AND AWESOME DIRECTING AND PRODUCTION!! A MUST WATCH!
