Plays like an after school special that does not go into any depth or real acting and over simplifies any real answers. There are actually a couple of decent actors in this, but they are wasted on this inadequate script. Some family movies are good. This is not one of them.

It’s amazing how so much effort was put into making this garbage. They couldn’t make a decent movie even with $200 million, 4 times the first movie’s budget. In the end, this only tarnished the impact that the first movie had on many people.

I couldn’t help the torrent of expletives that emanated from my mouth whilst watching this 😱

it blows my 🤯 mind & Twists my melon 🍉 man how people get over pretty things like in this episode & allow the tension to build & build until they become everything they have falsely accused others of being or doing and end up killing senselessly.

And just to add to that you have some guy seemingly justifying the actions the offender resorted to!
Even the old guy banged up admitted his actions were unforgivable and he was sorry.

the list of “must watch” is getting longer and longer….. could this be a mix of Succession and that other show which i have completely forgotten the name of…. Wishi could binge this right now, but got 2 series in front for a binge and about 7 for the “weekly episode watch”…..Keep us updated guys if you watched it all or some of it.

dw99 1 points 19 days ago.

Rivals is not at all like Succession. Rivals is trashy — it’s full of cliches, the characters are two-dimensional, and the plot is predictable and soap-opera-esque. It’s fun and I’m glad to be able to watch it, but I’m noting that it has none of the complexity of Succession, and unlike Succession it doesn’t require viewers to engage or think or ask questions.

magiczoo 1 points 19 days ago.

I hadn’t watched this since it first came out, and back then, I was a teenager myself. Not sure what made me rewatch it today, but here we are. I’d forgotten about its indie feel—the hand-held, sometimes shaky camera work, the unique angles, and stylized editing. The scenery is beautiful and atmospheric, creating a moody vibe that fits the story well. But beyond that? Not much more to say. One thing that did stand out this time was the actor playing Bella’s dad—gruff but earnest, and he pulled it off nicely. As for the leads… let’s just say their acting didn’t quite land the same way. They’ve delivered better performances in other films, but here, with the awkwardness and the stilted dialogue, it was hard to enjoy.

The writers messed up Torres background on this one. In an old episode (the one with the smuggled monkey meat) he was nervous around them and said he’d never been around them much before. Yet in this one he said he used to play with them them as a kid in Columbia.

Folks are forgetting this is the most expensive TV series EVER made. Can someone please explain how????? Other than money laundering, I just don’t see how thats possible. It looks like a broadway play/show. The costumes are beyond ridiculous, you ever see those halloween store superhero costumes with the cotton muscles and foam weapons. im embarrassed watching it and im not even in it. Annatar, Lord of Gifts is discussed in Unfinished Tales. It’s in Part II: “The History of Galadriel and Celeborn.”

Geckoboy666 3 points 19 days ago.

I’m aware of this. How they are using things they don’t have the rights for with only ahving rights to LOTR and appendicies. It must be Simon Tolkien who hates his grand father estste and creation. A failed writer himself, he is just trying to make his mark. But allowing this trash to be produced amazes me

That date was still just for buy/rent. Until it goes to regular Prime steaming, we won’t see links. The good news is that it shouldn’t be much longer.

I feel like scenes in this series were drawn out way too long for no payday. Even first half of the season finale was like this!! Not sure if I’m getting less patient or if Ryan Murphy and Team are getting more indulgent in the drama aspect, and forgetting the horror

We Were Tomorrow
grasshopper rex 1 points 19 days ago*.

A lot of strange things going on with this one. IMDb has the episodes dates as August 2024 with no specific day. I’m guessing that’s when it became available for buy/rent. I searched YT for a trailer and found only a little viewed zoom interview with the creator and some of the actors from a couple of weeks ago. It’s supposed to be a SYFY production, but I found nothing about it on their website.

This is realy awful TV. Peter Jackson should have Mckay and Payne in court for copyright infringement for all of the shots and dialect that have been wripped of from his Hobbit and LOTR’s films. The Scripts is for a modern audiance, that sticks out a mile. The costumes are really bad. Moving the filming to the UK was a bad idea. Or they could have sourced better locations. Far to much Mown grass about for it to look realistic. I know that Peter Jackson set a high bar for Fantasy movies. But the $65 Million per episode is not being shown on the screen. Not to mention that the ‘back to the book’s’ wass all Marketing hype. Annatar is not Mentioned in the LOTR or the Appdices, so they don’t have permission to usesit. Yes I’m a Tolkien nerd!

that article is spot on. This series and season is an absolute disaster. I dont even know where to start. From too many timelines added too an already confusing, all over the place timeline. The poor acting, writing, zero depth, I can go on and on. This some sort of LOTR “frankenstein” patched up. The only thing they forgot to mention in that artickle are how HORRIBLE the costumes and set are. cotton armor? Foam weapons, the poor hobbits with olives and branches in their hair. Even the orcs look like cheap party city halloween costumes. I know we are all entitled to our own opinion, granted im beyond puzzled how anyone can say this is the “greatest series they have ever seen”. This is an absolute mess. J.R.R. Tolkien is rolling in his grave

Forbes put out an article all about the declining numbers for season two which I will be more then to happy private message you about. There are articles all about how the show does disrespect Tolkien and how the makers of the show hate him and while yes you are right adding in more stories to an already established world can be a good thing for something like The Lord Of The Rings where both the world and the lore are so rich in the first place you do have to take extra care just due to how well liked all of the books are in the first place.

artrok2000 1 points 19 days ago.

The Jackal was a great movie. Bruce Willis’s character had my blood run cold. It was an unusual character for him to play and I thought he did it with an outstanding realism. I will be checking this out to see how it measures up

For a FF Genre type movie? It wasn’t too terribly bad (Let’s face it, there are a LOT of really BAD FF type movies out there). I thought it had some genuinely creepy moments to it. Hopefully the sequels are worth a watch as well.

Don’t worry everyone Kraven The Hunter will be a flop due to the fact that even tho the movie does indeed come out in over a months time there’s been next to nothing released for this film outside of one trailer about four months ago and several posters released a year or so ago compare this to Venom: The Last Dance and even Madame Web where you at the very least knew that those movies were coming out in the first place.
