Personally I think Nancy killed Nancy She was Mentally ill from the day she was born according to her mother. However I took much of what Deborah Spungen, with a grain of salt. She made her child out to be a devil child. Put her on Barbiturates when she was a toddler. I believe Nancy was doomed for an early death from birth. I am sure Sid was in no condition let alone capable of doing this to her.

I really enjoyed this. It’s tense and frustrating, which only means the acting and directing is spot on. Aaron Pierre and AnnaSophia Robb really shine and highlight the in- justice in any form of justice. Definitely an entertaining watch!

Yeah CT has been one of my tops over the years, even when he came back the one season after his son was born and the worst shape of his life, he was still a power house of a human. He was great on traitors. The Laurel/Cara crap has been taking up way to many hrs of tv for way to long. Can we have a new story please!

I just saw there is some controversy that Derek won. If you watch the episode again when horacio finishes Derek is missing a peg. The challengers it would seem on different podcasts think horacio won and some production shenanigans happened.

Josh has been a dud on every show he has been on except bb which I guess he won lol. I could careless about Laurel I’ve watched every season of the Challenge and she was always erratic and extremely mean. CT has been growing on me lately I didn’t use to like him much but these newer seasons I’m kind of changing my mind. He was also great on the traitors.

probly why all those “reality” shows stay on the air.. braindead zombies watch em and the cost to make is low.. perfect for commercials to sell crap to fools and teach them to be the lowest of humans .. just my own guess ..

They have so many cliffhangers per season! It’s really aggravating. This isn’t the best show I’ve ever watched, but I’m all out of good shows to watch for now, until fall shows come back. It’s entertaining enough to get me through the next few weeks of summer.

I could not stand Josh on BB and never liked him on here. On a side note when CT said “I shit myself” I just kept thinking welcome to old age and he is only 44 lol. I am really over the whole Laurel taking up time bullying everyone, someone needs to put her in her place!

Many good documentaries tell more than one story and this is no exception.

I initially turned this on to watch the history of CGI. I got a bit of that for the first half or so, but then I got a whole life story with incredible successes and equally big lows.

Given how relatable this story can be for many, like those not using their hard earned degrees, it’s also a cautionary tale. What I learned from Steve is not to do what he did. Dealing with rejection and failure after decades of hard work is no easy task. What separates the survivors from the permanently crippled is how we cope.

I wish there was more than 5 minutes on his new upward trajectory, but the few things he says about his “noise” and being with himself etc. are core to leaving that destructive, pain avoidance behavior. Discomfort often proceeds the search for a sedative.

PS - The best double entendre documentary I’ve seen is “The March Of Sherman”.

Spoiler: There’s not that much about General Sherman.

Surly 2 points 23 days ago.

I did a bit of googling to check dates…Harland’s career was taking off around the same time all of this happened with Steve. He was on Letterman in 93 (I remember that episode. He went on the show and did a comedy routine with peanut butter on the toes of his combat boots. I wasn’t surprised.), and then he got a small role in Dumb and Dumber (the cop who drinks the pee) in 94. Just speculating, of course, but it makes me wonder if that didn’t make the rejection sting a bit more for Steve.

  • edited to add an actual review of the film
This is an excellent documentary showing how Hollywood treats ground breaking talent when the artist in question doesn’t fit the Hollywood mold.

I was so surprised when I saw this doc. I actually knew Steve Williams in college. In 1983 he was a year ahead of me in animation at Sheridan college in Oakville Ontario. I didn’t know him well, I knew his brother Harland better, but I hung out with that crowd and went to their crazy parties. Yeah, he was a punk. If I recall correctly he knocked himself out in a mosh pit at one of the parties. Went to slam a guy and slammed the wall instead. The guys were all like that though. No one was mean spirited, they were just kinda crazy. But funny crazy. We were teenagers and very young adults havin a blast.

Apparently he didn’t mature much over the years but still, not getting recognition for the amazing, ground breaking work he did on this film is a travesty. He should have been on that stage getting the award. Hollywood sucks. :(
