Mulan does not look like a Disney remake, but a Chinese remake.
I think it’s a bit of both. Was reading something a bit ago about this, it’s a Disney movie, basically, as far as $ wise, guess they pretty much paid for it, and or have the rights to the story, but was filmed in China, and the actors are Chinese, and the lead is a Chinese actress, or so I understand from what I read.
Seems to be a lot of consternation concerning this as well as a boycott going on, as the lead came out in support of the Hong Kong police beating on protesters. Don’t think she worded it just like that, but she did get the attention of a lot of people, and groups, who were not real happy with it.

I absolutely hated the animated version.
I really liked this.
Coulda used a little more live action Kung Fu and little less CG but that’s just nit picking.
… Admittedly the forced Chinese accents made it all a bit awkward.
5⭐Movie! Loved, loved, loved it. The actress that played Mulan was excellent as well as the rest of the cast. The story was retold a bit different than the animated version but nothing was missing that made it less than the original version. This movie was about teaching values for adults a well as children & possibilities for females be it adult or children. I highly recommend it. Another Disney triumph!

I actually liked this movie. I think a lot of people are hung up on certain things not included in the film, which was done to be more accurate.

Brilliant!!
This is a solid film. I thought it was an entertaining re-telling of the Chinese folk legend, Hua Mulan. It’s a great story and she’s such a badass! One must remember that this is a Disney drama, geared toward families and children.

Loved the animated version and the live action version of Mulan I was excited to find out this was being made and released in 2020 and excited to watch it too glad they found a way to release it to the world even during the pandemic going on

Disney forgetting what made the animation so good… it was fun(ny). I mean no Mushu, crickey or grandma?? Not saying they should be in this, but they should have found some way to capture what they represented… fun. This one was wayyy too serious for me, ironic considering that Disney is all about fun and making people smile.

Never seen the cartoon version, I gave up cartoons as a child.
So, consequently I watched this with an ‘uncontaminated mind’.
5 stars, great movie. Very entertaining.
Next up from Disney will be live action or a cgi simulated live action of the little mermaid, followed by Finding Nemo etc.. Not a single original thought at that company anymore.
It has taken me 3-4 days to finish watching this and I’ve still got an hour to go. I don’t know how they managed to make this iconic and interesting story so uninteresting and soulless but somehow they have. Disney might want to cool it with these live action movies for awhile before they do something really dumb like make a live action Lion King

Out of all the live action Disney remakes this is one of the better ones but that said it still fails in comparison to the 1998 Disney original animated film

Wow this gotta be the absolute worst Disney movie I have ever seen. I do get why it has such low rating now. Cringe at it’s highest and the fact that they all speak English just takes me off it and not believe in the world they try to paint. For a children’s cartoon movie, sure but nope it was just as I thought when seeing the trailer. It will be really easy for it to just be cringe and ridiculous. I feel really bad for anyone who paid for this so called “movie”.

Just heard a news item on this which said that the star of the movie expressed support for the Hong Kong police which I think explains a lot of the trash ratings. I mean, it’s not a superlative movie, but it’s also not utter garbage. Politics.

I loved the movie but hated the fact that it was in english. Almost felt like I was watching one of those dubbed movies.
Kids wouldn’t be very good at reading subtitles. And I find they detract from the movie itself.
Good movie bud i still think the Hua Mulan(2009) version is better then this.
This was humdrum in an elegant way. The action made up for the lack of humour for me. Too much emphasis on passing a message instead of entertainment and a good storyline. A good one time watch 6/10
Flaw: The invaders had Friesian horses which certainly didn’t exist during the movie’s time period.

It is sad because there is a lot of library on this GREAT site I’d love to watch but can’t because loader has only used them. I think theres a bit of anti-Chinese propaganda coming out with this movie Ive watched them all and this is as good as any with a lot of Chinese movie involvement it will do very well there 4/5
