Awww man, the show has been canceled. No Season 6, at the time of writing this post, there is only one more episode to go. I hope they at least give them a good ending and not one of those stupid ‘cliffhangers’.
I see this more as a re-do, the characters are completely different, jack dalton is pretty much night and day from the original,as is thornton,this is not a prequel or they would have kept the character traits the original had. This is something entirely different in my mind.
I’m not a fan of season 5 and I didn’t like how they ended jack’s storyline or Leanna’s storyline, I didn’t like how they ended the show but I’m happy they didn’t end it on a cliffhanger. I’m not a big fan of Desi but I still love the show. I feel like Riley deserved more so does Mac and Bozer. And I don’t like how they forced Mac and desi’s relationship on us. To me I thought Riley and Mac were endgame. I love this show cause of Mac, Bozer, Jack, Riley and Matty and Russ
When I first started this series I was not expecting much. Huge fan of the original and at first I didn’t like it. But that was the original talking. Jack actually kept me interested, with a lot of help from Riley and then Leanna. Worth giving it a chance even if you think its just wrong like I did.It is actually a good show if you can ignore and just not compare it to the original.
well first off, it is supposed to be a prequel , so that is how you should look at it, it is when he was younger, before the original show, when he was older…..
hunh! Prequel! Had no idea. Was about to call bullshit, then decided it might be a good idea to look and see before i opened my pie hole, and sure enough. Always thought it was a re-do. Good to know. Kinda agree with finigan1 though, felt exactly the same when I first watched it, almost didn’t get past the first episode, but wanted to give it a chance. Glad I did.
I wanted to like this show, but it is a far cry from the original, which was witty, clever, and light-hearted. This one is pretentious and takes itself way too seriously. Dialogue is cliche and dull, as well. I’ll go re-watched the 80s series instead.

Season 5 - Episode 5
Well that gave a whole new meaning to the saying ‘Hit The Road Jack”. I personally thought it was a bit harsh considering Jack is a beloved character of not just the new version but the 80’s show as well. But man, they made super-duper sure George Eads never ever darken their door way ever again LOL. I’m thinking maybe the rumors of his bad behavior on sets are true. I mean getting booted from not just one but two major TV roles, with rumors of the same type of behavior, that cannot be coincidence or bad luck.

I love this show. I can’t wait for the next one to air every week. Glad it is back.
