Still shit, still not Halo. It’s like the producers were at the table trying to come up with a premise and they came to the conclusion that doing literally everything that goes opposite to the games and eu. AU or not, that’s not how you write a successful show that is directly marketed to the people who loved those things to begin with.
If you know absolutely nothing about Halo, and don’t really care, there’s a chance you might enjoy the show, it’s like every other generic sci-fi show out there, just
with a Halo skin. The pov switching in battle isn’t terrible, it’s a really cool concept it just needs ironing out. The cgi can look pretty good in some instances, but bad in others so be prepared for a little quality switch occasionally.
If you’re fresh, but want to learn about Halo and think the show will give you that lore without having to dish out $100 for the games, you’re shit out of luck.
And if you’re a Halo veteran, you might just start seeing red at the level of disrespect and modern political inserts.
They need to let the stupid girl kwan die so they can get on with the show, she is about ruining it.

Based on how they were kinda sort of doing the games and novels but not really, I think you can just substitute what has happened in those but assume Master Chief/Makee are the chosen ones in whatever scenario.

The new series Halo seems to be a action pack nonstop train. I want a ticket.
New episode has just dropped, and I like it that I don’t have to wait until the next day to see it.
If you’ve been patiently waiting like me for season 2……..Halo Season 2 Filming Has Wrapped According To Series Star Pablo Schreiber. But still no release date so keep checking……….
This was purely an impulse watch, as I’ve never played the game, but the show is beautiful to look at and interesting to follow. It’s fancy, but underneath that there seems to be (so far) an accessible story about finding one’s moral center in a sea of contradictory, even amoral, noise.
I get a strong whiff here of Robocop in a lot of ways; maybe that’s what’s going to keep me returning - along with the cool sci-fi-ness of it all:-) There are several people to root for here that should be fun to watch.
The arbiter’s(the alien that saw the master chief interact with the artifact in the cave) journey is one of my favorite story arcs in all video games

Pretty lit. If the keep the intensity from episode 1 up the whole time it’ll be a wild ride. The animation is stunning. I keep thinking of the reaction I had when Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children dropped. It’s that same reaction. Just absolutely beautiful CGI. Can’t help but think they shoulda made this 10-15 years ago, if not sooner, though. The franchise’s popularity peaked circa Halo 2. But a show like this might make the IP a household name again.
Had no idea this was coming and was slightly worried it was an animation series. A surprise winner! Looks like a good balance of CGi + real world and some decent known actors. The entire time i was thinking about Master Chief ‘I know that voice’. Really pleased with who’s under the helmet as he’s really great action actor and physically fits the bill.
The rescued ‘rebel’s’ lack of logic really bugged me though. Rather than tell the truth that this aliens can and will annihilate everything thrown at them (normal human/weapon wise) and that 150 x ppl got killed by 20 of them, she’d rather say the ppl that saved her did it because ‘f@*k it’. There’s just zero logic there. She’s not being asked to sign a devils bargain, or lie? Irrational stupidity, that you can’t even see sense in when trying to look at it from their point of view just really frustrates me.
Haha I said the very same thing about “that voice” and would not have guessed, although I know the actor quite well from other stuff over the years.☺

They butchered the theme/soundtrack, why does Chief keep taking off his helmet? and noone cares about Kwan, she needs to go die ASAP. Otherwise, it’s decent… needs lots more fighting and battle scenes.
OK so on the helmet thing. First the reason master chief had a helmet on the whole time is that faces were really hard to do well when the first game came out. It was much easier to have a simple helmet. There’s nothing in the games that suggests he doesn’t or cannot take the helmet off. Thirdly this is a series and not the game. They’re trying to reach a different and larger audiences who have no connection to the game and who would most likely prefer to see the actor’s face. Since it’s a different medium than games they can and will take artistic licence. Look at the Resident Evil movies and how far they went from game cannon. Now Im sure you’ll want to bring up The Mandolorian but there we have the canon reason why he keeps the helmet on.
I didn’t realize that Pablo Schreiber and Liev were half-brothers. I liked Ray Donovan until Jon Voight became a main character.

Yeah, they sure are about like Jeff and Beau Bridges and Dennis and Randy Quaid. In my opinion, Dennis is the better actor of the two.
IMO Pablo has more range (leprechaun!) - lots of things I didn’t recognize him in right away. Liev needs detox after Ray Donovan.
In epi 5 Kwan I guess digs a hole and somehow covers herself with dirt! Seriously, do the writers think we’re that dumb?! Something needs to be done with her! She is getting on my nerves and I just want to smack her! Petulant teen with an attitude! I have no patience with petulant teens. And friends wonder why I never wanted children!
If you are a hardcore Halo gamer/fan you might find this hard to watch as it is a total rewrite from the game. However if you are like me and only a mil fan of the game but a big sci fi and or action fan you may like it. The action scenes were stunning in the first ep. There was plenty of them as well, however there was a lot of talking also.

Dang it! “Paramount+ can confirm that ‘Halo’ will not move forward with a third season on the service,” the streamer said in a statement.” According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Xbox, Amblin TV, and 343 Industries will try to shop the series to other outlets. Hope this happens cause I need more Halo!
2nd season starts on February 8 with a double shot! Can’t wait and so many new shows starting in the new year and favorites will return too.
