Reacher series is a 𝟏𝟎.
This is from the 1st Lee Child Jack Reacher book Killing Floor. This guy Looks more like Reacher than the movie actor.
Got to agree Cruise is a short ass and really bad choise for a person like Jack Reacher
Lee Child was not happy with Cruise getting the part for the film version of Reacher and it is clear why watching this great tv adaption - about 1 foot in height and around 1 ton of screen presence. Alan Ritchson is phenomenal in the role - he dominates the screen as well as anyone stupid enough to go up against him.
He reminds me of Vince Vaughn in Brawl in Cell Block 99 - another 6 and half footer demolishing anyone who comes up against him - only he is more of a gentle giant compared to Ritchson who has a dangerous look in his eye.
My only complaint is the fights last too long - I get the feeling that a man like Reacher would be a bit more efficient when facing 5 guys in a bathroom.
thanks for the review, I cant stand Tom Cruise so he turned me off to the movies, but it sounds like they got it right with the tv series.
He nay say he’s 6’5 in the show, but in reality the actor is just a smidge under 6’2 (188cm)
LOLOLOL, Cell block 99, that was brutal. Tom Cruise made his own movie. However, this is okay for the most part with the new Reacher dude. Tom Cruise, Pfffffffttttt. I like the dangerous look in the eye etc. I really don’t feel they will ever get this on point. On to the books…which I’d rather read then watch this fantasy. I love the character and would rather have him in my head that isn’t in this show.
I hope we get a few more books (seasons) out of this. Way better than the movies
Ritchson’s casting in this has made it so clear why Tom Cruise as Reacher was absurd. A main part of Reacher in the books was his intimidation factor - now Ritchson is, by all accounts, an affable and very funny guy - but no one would want a dude looking like that giving them a withering stare. No matter how good an actor Cruise might be, he’s going to be looking like an upset Chihuahua trying the same.
A specific date has not been confirmed for the show’s arrival, it was revealed that the show will be returning for its second this December.

He’s been very active since, from being a Ninja Turtle to Titans to having his own post apocalyptic death race style show, Blood Drive - which was so much better than it had any right to be.
Agree completely. I watched blood drive expecting to get fed up after a couple of episodes given how much like a low budget ‘b-movie’ it looked; however I was actually really surprised how good it was; Was disappointed when it wasn’t renewed. The humour in it kinda reminds me of DC Legends of tomorrow tbh now I think.
Loved him in Titans, am looking forward to starting this series tonight.
Blood Drive was my intro to Richson. Loved that show, it was SO over the top. Just a wild ride literally. Definitely a tribute to the grindhouse movie genre. I was not happy it got canceled.

Alan Ritchson also had just got Killed off from the series Titans. Well he was dead for a while. Where he played Hawk.
Yeah, thanks for that! Couldn’t remember where I saw him, remembered seeing him in something else, was bugging the crap out of me, and now I know where it was. He did an excellent job in this, just got done watching this all the way through, and now really hope he gets some good gigs doing other things on account of what he did here, he did some great work with this.
I liked that character. Hopefully he does well in this, too.
I think he was in the CW Aquaman series, but he was Hawk in the Titans, live action tv show. Good stuff. I do like this better than the Reacher movies.
He was in the recent ‘TITANS’ series playing Hawk.
Spoiler - they had him killed on last season, guess he needed an ‘out’ to play on this show.

If you like Reacher, listen up…..A Reacher spinoff is in the works & the series will follow Neagley as a Chicago private investigator. When she learns that a friend from her past was killed in a suspicious accident, she decides to investigate it for herself. She uses all the skills the 110 Special Investigators and Reacher taught her, which will mean some dangerous moments as she becomes hellbent on justice. This spinoff doesn’t have a title yet.

Good binge watch. If you’re a fan of DC’s Titans, live action show— you’ll enjoy it.

It’s confirmed that Reacher season 2 will debut in December of this year. An exact date was not revealed, as it is likely held for a later announcement.

Alan Ritchson does a good job of capturing the persona of Reacher as the author intended with a quick and agile mind coupled with an intimidating stature and brutal yet honorable set of ethics and skills.
I liked the Cruise movies and thought they were well done but he lacked the sheer intimidation factor that a person of Ritchson’s size gives to folks by merely being within their sight and the prejudices that comes with it, wich often play key roles in Child’s books.
It could have been better but translating this character into current pop morays looses some depth.
Great series! Alan Ritchson is destined for the big screen! Because the small screen just ain’t big enough for this corn-fed man mountain! He was also an American Idol contestant. Pretty decent singer, IMHO.
Thoroughly disappointing.The knock on Cruise’s Jack Reacher was that he lacked the character’s physicality. This Reacher lacks everything else. He has all the personality of Marvel’s Hulk. To call him wooden is an insult to trees. Jack Reacher, as written, is edgy and quick. This guy has no edge at all, and lumbers through the role like a stunned rhino. A great story wasted on bad writing and even worse acting. Whoever cast this sodden lump of gruel should go back to his day job.
I agree on the writing. Far too many coincidental clues. You can really see how they worked from the ending to the beginning. They knew where they had to end up so wrote and the points go get there.

I am a little “late in the game” when it comes to this series on Amazon. I had this one on my “To Watch List” ever since it debuted. Finally had the opportunity to do some Binge watching and burned my way through both Season 1 and Season 2…and man am I glad I did! This is an excellent Action series and I was impressed with how well it was done.
Now mind you, I haven’t read the Lee Child series of Reacher novels (Should I even bother now after watching S1 & S2?) but really liked the storylines, acting/casting and action that has made up the series so far. Definitely looking forward to Season 3 and (hopefully) multiple (quality) seasons in the future as well.

Are you ready for this? There is a spin off in the works for Frances Neagley! No title yet and filming hasn’t started yet. Her character will not follow the books so who knows what we will see in this new series.
The Big Guy is back! Glad they dropped the first 3 episodes, but after watching them now I wish they were at least 90 minutes long instead of 50 minutes long or they just dropped the whole damned season at once. I was a big fan of Season 1, but so far after 3 eppys I have to say Season 2 is better. Maybe because we know what to expect now, but it jumps right into it and hasn’t let off the gas yet. Not that action is everything (unless you’re Michael Bay, lol), but it has loads of action while getting into the story and the background as well.
If you liked/loved S1 then get the F in on S2.

I really liked Season 1, even watched it a second time to appreciate the quality of the secondary actors. This was RItchson’s best performance as well…a quietly contemplating/analyzing brooding Reacher.
Season 2 was OK, nice to look back at the early 110’th. But it was also slightly self-indulgent. Decent Plot, but not as well executed as the first season.
Season 3 was a plod, I rolled my eyes a bit and forced myself through it. The forest fight alone made me groan with the comicbook direction. Much like Season 2, it was a decent story that missed it’s mark, and overshadowed by flat trope characters.
Though it’s not the exact date, Amazon sneakily announced that Reacher Season 2 would premiere in December 2023.

I was really loving this series and then the actor had to open his big mouth during an interview and ruin it for me. Why can’t actors just shut up and act? Who ever told them to use their PLATFORM needs to shut up too.
