I don’t know if anyone is aware of this yet, but this show just topped the show ‘Stranger Things’ as the most watched series on Netflix. That pretty much clinches it for a second season. I really liked this show and pretty much binged it, so really looking forward to a second one.
Agreed! If they can keep it going like they did with the first season, they will have one heck of a hit on their hands. I think a lot of it had to do with the lines they gave Wednesday, and the way she delivered them, the girl was just flat out awesome playing her. Flat out nailed it.
This is a super series which I almost didn’t watch because I feared it would be too juvenile. It’s not! It’s fun, has an excellent cast, is extremely witty - and respects the original show’s quirky characters even as it moves plot points forward to reflect present-day life. I’m so glad I gave it a shot; it’s very well done, and teases that we may see more of intrepid Wednesday one day.
I also noticed it. A real menace spreading woe and false accusations around like a mad gardener with an amok garden hose in a loose hand, all while dreamily kissing the hansom, real monster with a fluttering young girl heart beating in her breast. Isn’t that a popular personality model i recognize among young women of the day.
I do like the series, but recognize that it is nice and fun to see on film while NOT so nice to meet in reality. I get where old Mr. Crackstone coming from and sympathize.. Her ancestor probably killed or stole by magic and other false things, then gaslighted and deflected in the same self assured style as Wednesday. Church and strength in the Lord and purifying dogma is truly the only way to go. Lets together condemn and root out this kind of unwanted/unneeded personalities. Let’s say it together.. Hallelujaaha.
Thank you young man, your devoted piety (and sharp intellect over all), like your kindness, warms my old heart. ;) Bless the wicked thou they know not what they do. ??
Some news on 2nd season: Netflix officially announced season 2 in January 2023, giving us fans the news we had been waiting for. However, here we are a year later, and production has still not yet commenced. The good news is that it will begin in April 2024, with filming now taking place in Ireland. Unfortunately, that rules out a 2024 release.
too bad that as the series progresses, she loses a bit of that Wednesday-ness and gets a bit more normal.. the makeup is less pale, and a tab bit more “make her look pretty”.. just hitting episode 6.. still rreally enjoying the show.. well written..good acting ..

I noticed that, too; even down to her adding a bit of white to some of her outfits along the way. I figured it was done deliberately to indicated how the situation and classmate-drama really was changing her severe worldview - just a little bit:-)
Some spinoff news! “Netflix plans to expand The Addams Family universe with a spinoff show focused on Uncle Fester, following the success of the Wednesday series. Some fans are confused by the choice to focus on a minor character like Uncle Fester, but with the lore-heavy focus of Wednesday, now is the right time to explore Fester’s character in depth. Fred Armisen, who portrayed Uncle Fester in Wednesday, is excited about the spinoff and believes he’s the perfect guy for the role. The show is set to release in 2025 or early 2026.”
I love that idea, as from what I was getting out of Wednesday, Fester was a bit of a ‘hitman/assassin’ and would love to get into his backstory. That would be wicked interesting.
The season 2 teaser trailer is out with season 2 being split into two parts part one is out August 6th and part two is due out on September 3rd both this year.
Well, this is interesting to say the least….Steve Buscemi, known for his roles in Fargo, Reservoir Dogs, and Boardwalk Empire, has been cast in the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday. Steve Buscemi reportedly is the new principal of Nevermore Academy for Season 2.
For those of you that are waiting for the second season to begin. I just read that Lady Gaga will be joining the cast this year. I will be waiting for it to drop for sure.
That’s exactly what it says. “Now, for those wondering when Ortega might return to Wednesday: Reports indicate that filming will be moved to Ireland for the upcoming season and that filming will begin by April.”
This show and Ortega were every where for months. Any time I went on the internet there was something about it. I watched it a while after it came out. Figured I’d watch it because how everyone was talking about it and I don’t know what the big deal was. The show is mediocre. Maybe it’s because it was so built up by everyone that my expectations were really high for it and that lead to my disappointment. It’s not horrible but it’s not amazing at all. Very boring at times. There were some good scenes but no great episodes. Pretty sure I fell asleep during some.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It did get a little predictable towards the end. There was also a lot of inconsistencies. It makes sense that Tim Burton directed the first 4 episodes, the other episodes were directed by 2 other directors. I was a little underwhelmed by Uncle Fester. Looking forward to season 2.

That is awesome. I really enjoyed this show. hope the script writers can keep it going \m/

This is fun. Really enjoyable. Ms. Ortega delivered a fantastic performance as Wednesday Addams, and I can’t wait to see more.
Wednesday is actually a terrible investigator. She managed to accuse everyone except the real culprits.

Hail Satan.
That’s a daring statement, you never know whom listening in. But in essence YES, LORD says LOVE the wicked. (may I get your number?)
keep your religious mumbo jumbo to yourself
Hallelujahahahahaha I guess it is Mr, S.Atan himself that commands the Lord to be quiet! NEVER!! We the angels shall win!! Overcome!! And so forth..

I think a lot of shows are delayed due to the writers’ strike. At least I have a lot of British shows I can watch in the meantime.
This turned out to be really excellent all the way through. Really hope they do a second season, really deserves it.
Loved it !
It’s also Miles Millar and Alfred Gough who did “Smallville”, though.
I think it’s gonna be very much “Legacies” but with Wednesday Addams instead of Hope Mikaelsson. I hope I’m wrong.
she makes a good wednesday .. :)
Looks interesting and hey, The Rollings Stones Paint it Black, what could go wrong?

liked the scene where she sat under the window in the middle of the room .. the symbolism was perfectly done..
The creativity and talent of the showrunner and director shines through, for sure!
This was a brilliant scene. Its little details that make the difference.
yep.. that scene deserves an award.. was just perfectly done.. that saying a picture says a thousand words just fit so, so well eh ..
Man, this has so much potential, I really hope they don’t &%*# it up….
well done ..

Wants MOAR Wednesday NOW!

After the hype died down, is it going to be worth the wait. Probably not, more than likely looking at a late fall premier.

Don’t care about this show is the main person who plays wednesday adams is leaving the show

Ooh. Definitely not going to complain about getting Ortega in Beetejuice. Doubly so that we won’t have to give up Wednesday S02!
👍🏼
That’s exactly what it says.

Okay. You’re right. I was wrong.
Just to throw this in Beetlejuice 2 is finished filming. Tim Burton posted on his IG a week or two ago.
woohoo!
Anything new on season 2 being out?
Thanks for update !
It started out good with ep1, after that it became a slightly better version of Harry Potter, barely! Best character was “thing”. -3 of 5
