Just read an article about the 4th season and we assumed it would be released this year. Sadly, HBO has not given a release date other than it will be in 2023. Jodie Foster will star in the 4th season. Here is a tidbit about this new season. True Detective: Night Country Takes Place in Alaska
In the new season of True Detective, eight men working at a research center suddenly vanish in Alaska. Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Keli Reis) are hired to find the men. But in order to solve the mystery, they’ll have to unravel the town’s dark history along with their own twisted past. HBO recently dropped an image of the two detectives in action, looking very, very cold and gazing at… something.

Haven’t watched season 3 yet, looking forward to it..

Finally watched this and it is getting interesting. So what’s up with the short 6-episode season? Is this a 2 part season or are they going to wrap up all these story lines in the next episode?

Is anyone else rewatching Season 1 after starting Season 4? I feel like I need to refresh my memory in order to appreciate S4 even more. Yes, I enjoyed some seasons more than others, but this show is fabulous and each season has contributed to its quality.

Boy season 2 is complicated! So complicated, that I’m losing interest. However, I read an excellent blog that explains the plot up till the second to the last episode. It explains everything and even with pictures of the characters to help you keep track who’s who. Nevertheless, it’s still super complicated. Well heck the blog title is “What Exactly Is Going On in True Detective Season 2? An Excruciatingly Clear Plot Breakdown.” by Willa Paskin. Finding the blog and reading the title alone, let alone the excruciatingly long explanation, relieved me in that my confusion of what the hell is going on and why should I care, has some validity. I really loved season 1. I’ve heard season 3 is also great. Season 2 just isn’t doing it for me.

Initially, the title and cover photo and genre put me off, not my thang, I thought, but the IMDB rating and reviews got my attnl, as well as, who stars / produces incl. Woody Harrelson and matthew mcconaughey and that it’s an HBO series (I didn’t know). It’s one of the highest rated tv shows on IMDB and I wanted to know why…3 ep. in and I’m getting the depth and complexity. Not fast paced action, but brilliant character study and more…nuff said gotta get back into it!

Well worth a watch! Be ready with your time because you might want to binge watch.The character studies are masterfully crafted, dark and dirty so much so that you might notice a parallel in your own life…

Hopefully this is good. Going to wait to binge season 4.

As of February 21, 2024, HBO has officially renewed True Detective for Season 5. Showrunner Issa López will stay on for the next season, and now has an exclusive contract to create new programming for both HBO and Max.

Let’s hope our wait won’t be much longer for season 4! Here is the very latest….True Detective Season 4’s release date will arrive by late 2023. After season 3 ended in February 2019, it took a while for a decision to be made about a 4th season. But in March 2022, the announcement finally came, and the fourth season went into production in November 2022. So, it will at least be a few months before it comes out.

Nic Pizzolatto who is the creator of True Detective got his MA at the University of Arkansas which is my home state. So, yeah, I’m proud of that but he got his BA at LSU. LSU and the Razorbacks don’t like each other that much. HBO has hinted that it will release the much-awaited season 4 sometime this year. Titled Night Country, the series boasts a strong cast led by Jodie Foster.

We’ll have to wait until June 2023 to see the 4th season of True Detective……it has been 4 years and I guess covid had something to do with production……The series will be led by Jodie Foster as Detective Liz Danvers. She will be joined by boxer Kali Reis, John Hawkes (Deadwood), Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Finn Bennett (The Nevers), and Anna Lambe (Three Pines).

damn, after starting off fairly interesting season 4 was a total disappointment

Here is the latest date for the start of season 4 and it will be January 14, 2024…..dang…several more months. Just watched the trailer and dang! Jodie Foster is looking old and I’m older than she is, but she looks way older than me.

In episode 3 of season 4 seems more like a family drama show rather than a dark crime thriller. I’ll keep watching but only because I have nothing else to watch and I’m hoping it gets better. Oh yeah the sex scenes how do we go from Alexandra Daddario to whatever these scenes are.
