Eva Libitzky survived the Lodz ghetto and subsequent internment at Auschwitz. In 2013 this intense and engaging 90-year-old returns to Poland with her grandchildren to share with them a tour of the places of her childhood and youth, all still indelibly etched in her memory. Punctuated with the humor involved when traveling with a group of 17 family members, ‘Eva’s Gift’ is more than just a family home movie. It tells the story of one extraordinary woman who confronts sorrow and anger squarely in the face, in the hopes of sharing what she has experienced with her family. What results is a gripping and moving account of survival and redemption. Produced by Susan and Moses Libitzky and directed by Emmy Award-winning producer/director Rick Bacigalupi. |
