Set in the 1890s western United States, a mother and her two daughters cope with the death of their father. The death is a sign of bad luck for the family and they fear they will live long lonely lives. Tiernan, a blind man from a nearby town, visits and the mother feels this is her chance to rid their family of bad luck. She pursues Tiernan and the feelings are mutual. Her daughters also independently decide this is the end of their bad luck as they take advantage of his blindness. |
