This great movie has only one comment and only 2 links at this moment. It is definitely not getting what it deserves. Great film everything magically delicious said is right on the spot
A24 before it was cool to A24. Great watch all around.
Agreed. Amazing movie. Yelchin is incredible in this. So sad he died, he had a bright future in front of him.
He was amazing as was Alia Shawkat, Imogen Poots, Patrick Stewart, Joe Cole, Callum Turner, and Macon Blair. Itās a talent extravaganza thatās dark and full to the waterline with excellent performances.
Yelchin and (although not in this movie) Heath Ledger, are two of the greatest early losses in the last two decades, IMO.
I love this film and revisit it every year since it was made. Itās a remarkably tense, violent, yet nearly apathetic look at manās inhumanity to man and all living creatures. Patrick Stewart, Imogen Poots, and (not at all lastly) Anton Yelchin are superb and show the craft for which all actors should be known for; the conveyance of raw emotion.
okay Iām in, I love punk rock. I have never heard of this movie so thank you for bring it to my attention
Wow Iāve been so lucky to be hitting on some really awesome independent films lately. This one has very realistic violent scenes. Very top notch acting from some people Iāve never heard of. I often find that goes in an indie films favor as it makes it even more convincing. 5 āāāāā
Check out Saulnierās other movies. Iāve seen them all except his latest one that recently came out this year but itās on my list. Intense & fascinating film oevre. Heās an actorās director since he really allows actors to take their time to get the performances he wants from them.
Itās funny you mentioned this. I did exactly that when I finished this movie. If you have any preferences other than this one let me know and I will put them on my watch list. Thanks and have a great weekend.
Blue Ruin is excellent. It was my intro to Saulnierās movies. Donāt watch any trailers or read any descriptions of it. Itās better to go in blind. It really is amazing. Saulnier uses some of the same cast in every movie he does. The lead guy in BR is in this movie too & I think all of his movies. Love it when directorās have an ensemble cast the use over & over again.
Thanks for the recommendation. Yes many directors do that. The only one I can think of that doesnāt is Clint Eastwood. He sometimes uses actors that are really good but not well known which I believe is an ingenious tactic, It helps to add to the realism of the film.
Totally agree especially with Blue Ruin. Itās outstanding!
Outstanding!
This movie is anything but great, far from it
Itās dull and mediocre at its bestā¦ TRASH!
I enjoyed it enough to watch (and Iāve seen the directorās other work), but it did feel that it was missing something which made it fall into āmerely okā (but not great) territory ā Patrick Stewart was kind of wasted in his role and could have been so much more.
