Federal Agent Aaron Falk returns to his home town after an absence of over twenty years to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Luke, who allegedly killed his wife and child before taking his own life - a victim of the madness that has ravaged this community after more than a decade of drought. When Falk reluctantly agrees to stay and investigate the crime, he opens up an old wound - the death of 17- year-old Ellie Deacon. Falk begins to suspect these two crimes, separated by decades, are connected. Reading the synopsis above i realised i actually read the book ‘The DRY’ a couple of years ago. I took it out of the library, it’s set in Australia. I don’t usually read Australian fiction but it was a good story so hopefully they’ll have made it into a decent film.. will have to try watching it later. Keep cold drinks handy when watching this, you’ve been warned! Thankyou uploaders :))x
I didn’t even REALIZE I had read this book years ago until I was about 1/2 in! Not a fast-paced book or movie, but very heavy on the soul. I had forgotten how sad the ending of the book (movie) was.
It seems like years since I’ve seen Eric Bana in a movie. Can’t wait for the best quality version to come out.

Slow burn, not much meat or substance. Maybe reading the book as more kick to it. Do love Bana, he as aged gracefully and did great with what the script and director had to offer. One time watch!!!

I put this movie off for a while,finally watched it and didn’t get the full understanding of what in hell his real purpose was,so i watch it again with what i knew and understood from the first watch and Man with the way it ended and everything in the middle,Arin sure had a lot going on that he didn’t anticipate by going back,but then he is detective 5/5 really a good watch and if your like me i would say twice,lol
Slow burn, but def worth a one time watch. Was not expecting the ending at all.

An excellent movie in my opinion. Slow burn yes but far from boring, great acting and a solid story. 5/5
