Dark island is a coming of age story set on an island in the Stockholm archipelago. A boy in his early teens goes to visit his grandparents in their summerhouse. Upon arriving he is greeted by a girl his own age, who informs him that his grandfather has fallen seriously ill. Whenever real life gets too tough, the boy escapes into daydreams where he has heroic adventures. But life on the real island demands more than childish fantasies. |
