Using a motif of physical communication, the film explores how the same desires and wants can lead to drastically different actions. A desire to be close to someone can lead to pulling them closer, or pushing them away. At the beginning of a relationship we have no expectations of the other person. Our ego’s are not fearful of being judged wanting, and we are able to simply understand the other person. Over time our ideas, expectations, and fears grow. Our mind begins to work, a harsh word after a bad day, is no longer just a bad day but must have some deeper meaning personal to us. We become unable to see simply the other person without the taint of our fears and expectations. |
