Based on the bestselling book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, this sprawling new HBO drama is set in a world where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime. From the scheming south and the savage eastern lands, to the frozen north and ancient Wall that protects the realm from the mysterious darkness beyond, the powerful families of the Seven Kingdoms are locked in a battle for the Iron Throne. This is a story of duplicity and treachery, nobility and honor, conquest and triumph. In the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die.

Season Eight excluded (and possibly a few other seasons as well) Game Of Thrones is one of the best shows in modern TV history in my opinion and while the quality of the writing varies from to season to season the quality of the shows acting and special effects is always top notch this is a show that I highly recommend watching if you haven’t seen this show and if you have then I recommend watching it again just for the heck of it.
BEST SHOW OF ALL TIME
Until mid-season 7, yeah. Prepare yourself for disappointment if this is your first watch through. I’d hate to see anyone’s heart get broken like mine was.
Until Season 5 actually. Both seasons 5 and 6 were bad. 7 & 8 even worse.
First season was the best by far.
Agreed, Yourtruemoon!
:)
Just recently finished re-watching the series. It was slightly better with subtitles turned on and kind of knowing vaguely what was going to happen. I was lost through most of my first viewing years ago. Favorite characters: Arya, Jon Snow, and The Imp.
Pretty cool mini series. Just finished the entire thing. I like that the story wasn’t commercialized with a “And they all lived happily ever after” ending. Original, unique, exciting, captivating, and epic tale. It had it’s dull moments sure, and some of the sequences went off the beaten path for my taste, but a very good story I must say. I was just frothing at the mouth to see that power drunk, smug, bitch Cersei Lannister get what was coming to her. Though she deserved much worst…
if you’re debating watching this, watch it. everyone who i’ve seen talked into watching it loves it. actually i’ve never seen anyone who dislikes it. its just got great characters and writing. but once you start, do not use the internet…basically. don’t google it or get on social media. there will be spoilers everywhere that will ruin important things later on.
I’ve always been a fan of Kit Harrington and I liked the character Jon Snow. Here’s a tidbit about another spin off……HBO remains mum on the subject of Jon Snow. Still, Emilia Clarke, Harington’s Game of Thrones co-star, just dropped some major news about the series. Clarke confirmed that the spinoff is in the works.
It’s the best show
Might as well watch it all again before the final season in April, Just finished the first now on too Season 2.
im looking forward to the final season. #GOTSeason8
Final season starts in April 2019, so it´s less than half a year away!
I read that teaser is a red herring, and plans are to release just after the new year starts.
That would be a great way to start the new year! Hope you´re right!
I am planning to binge watch Seasons 1-7 starting the middle of March. Yes, I am another very excited GoT FAN.
OMG!!!! This is really boring! I don’t understand what all the fuss is about???? I was never keen to watch this because of all the hype but I actually ran out of things to watch so here I am! I managed to sit through the first 4 episodes and almost fell asleep. It’s very slow and so far really uneventful storywise :( I don’t know if this show is a slow burner that takes at least One season before you can get into it but I’m not sure if I want to waste another 6 hours to find that out :( :( YAWN!
You’re an astute observer! It does take awhile to get your teeth into it. S1 has to tell a story but there are sooo many characters to introduce. Also lots of mentions about things that seem out of context, but that later make sense. (Had many a-ha! moments:) I liked S1 lots, but it wasn’t until the latter half S1 and subsequent seasons that GOT was a 10/10 consistent favorite. And there’s something for everyone! Nearly every genre fits (outside kids’ stuff). If you care to continue with GOT, peek at the family or character “trees,” maps and other guides online that I sometimes had to reference for understanding - not chat rooms or opinions, “just the facts, ma’am” sources. Heartbreaking, iconic, & shocking scenes are coming, leading to an epic showdown! I don’t know how the crew managed to film the huge battles in this fictional world, but it’s impressive. Lastly, I used CC a lot; it helped with dialects, names, & comprehension. Anyone on the fence, try GOT. My college-aged son finally watched while “sheltered-in” & it’s become his all-time favorite. Now, I have to ask HIM about puzzling events. =)
Where is the leaked episode????
Lena Heady is starring in Beacon 23 and now this actor from GOT is in a new series…..”Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will be starring in a new CBS period drama called King and Conqueror alongside James Norton (from Grantchester), set to begin production in 2024. The series will delve into the tumultuous relationship between Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy in the 11th century, leading up to the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066. Coster-Waldau’s return to network television is significant, as he gained fame through Game of Thrones and previously appeared in the short-lived series New Amsterdam.”
Season 8 is almost here!!!!!!!!
I’m just wondering how cool would have been to include Lady Stoneheart in the GOT TV series. Still, looking forward to season 8.
💯! Okay, I admit that my initial interest in this HBO epic was the ‘dragons’!
“There be dragons here…” Of course, once I was balls deep into it, I had much respect and gratitude for the excellence in story/plot, cast/character development, and the spectacular filming locations.
I’ve never read the books that this series is adapted from, and even after watching this HBO rendition, I have no desire to…
It seems to me, that George Martin ran out of steam, in his authoring further books, once HBO got a hold of the story… ka ching $ ka ching $
The series soon caught up to, and surpassed, where George was ~ with his published GOT saga…
Nevertheless, although I was ‘wtf’ waiting to see the dragons, after every ep, the journey was a grand one. I would chant, “we need more cowbell”, I mean dragons!
Gwendoline Christie and Peter Dinklage were my favourites. Their character portrayals really stood out. Hopefully we’ll see much more of these two in future projects…
