Messiah explores the lines among religion, faith and politics. It chronicles the modern world's reaction to a man who first appears in the Middle East creating a groundswell of followers around him claiming he is the Messiah. Is he sent from God or is he a dangerous fraud bent on dismantling the world's geopolitical order? The story unfolds from multiple points of view, including a young CIA agent, an Israeli Shin Bet officer, a Latino preacher and his Texan daughter, a Palestinian refugee and the media, among others. |

This was pretty good. 4/5.
The ‘thriller’ description was IMO, appropriate. It wasn’t really a fantasy or sifi, didn’t try to push a heavy pro or anti-religion agenda. Lots of little twists, action and enough ‘what’s really going on here?’ moments to keep a good binge going.
I was initially “wow-ed” by “Messiah”, and binged all 10 episodes in one day. What I am left with at the conclusion, is nothing but pure speculation, however. I would definitely watch a season 2, due in part to the strong acting on the behalf of Mehdi Dehbi (“Al-Masih “) more than anything else. The writers did seem aimless after episode 4, which bothered me. An excessive use of various branches of “what ifs” and rash semi-formed conclusions on the behalf of the focal protagonist (Michelle Monaghan aka “Eva Geller”), who was also as ambiguous in her own background as Al-Masih, made this viewer also feel more than a bit unfocused as to the definitive meaning of the series. “Messiah” is definitely an easy and interesting, and thoroughly addictive watch, regardless of the issues with the story itself (which is probably intentional on the behalf on Netflix).
After finding out this series has already sent the SJW denizens of Twitter into a triggered rage, I REALLY want to watch it.
It also has a very low critic score on Woken, er, I mean Rotten Tomatoes. You know, the critics that are pandering to the very same SJWs that are upset. That means this show is gonna be really good.
My guess was that the christian fundie ‘burn it before you read it’ crowd (and their bots) got all pissy again and downvoted it, but after watching some of it myself, I agree,it’s gonna be real good.
No thank you, I love fiction and fairy tales but I could never get into this story no matter how it is portrayed.
I love the philosophical idea in the show. How can you be so sure whether he is a messiah or not even with all of his past background? Regardless is it a hoax or not? Some would say you decide your path when God shows you a direction, if you believe in God. But one thing is certain, this drama has started a discussion and many don’t want to discuss such a subject. Politics, religion and taxes are a few things people don’t like to talk about because of how they feel about such topics. It’s better to keep quiet and keep the tempers cool.
They’re on VLC and so should be on opensubtitles too if you don’t wanna wait

not even sure how i would use that as i am watching via this site and not dl
Depending on the link you use, the viewer has an ‘options’ button(looks like a gear wheel) when toggled that let’s you upload an ‘srt file’(download from ‘subscene’ or similar site) from PC.
Download the zip from the site for the episode, then unzip, then open video in VLC media player, then go to the VLC subtitles menu and select the .srt subtitle file from the zip. This is for PC, on Win/Linux/Mac. Here’s how to use VLC mobile with subtitles https://www.vlchelp.com/android-app-downloading-subtitles-automatically/
The site prompts for a Chrome addon, no need to install that.
Linkers are required to provide Programs in either Spoken English or HC (hard-coded) English Subtitles.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
I get confused as to what happens in episodes 1&2 and then suddenly we’re in Texas. Granted I was playing a heated game of Civilization and wasn’t paying much attention but it sure jumps into something more palatable for white America really quickly. That said, I was actually surprised at how it kept me anxious in just the right way. Is he? Is he not?
fake jesus
Great Christmas viewing!
