I love the writing, I love the actors & I will forever be upset this didn’t make it past a single season. I’m on a Sorkin kick having just re-watched West Wing for the 4th or 5th time and thought I’d give this another watch as well. Hopefully this comment will trigger a few more viewers :)

And I want to also add that while she was only on 3 episodes, she loomed large - Christine Lahti. Her performance and command are how I fell in love with her as an actress. She deserved a better career, she’s a grande dame!

I agree with you! I have only watched this series once and in the back of my head, I still think Sarah Paulson got her start on SNL and I have to remember it was the copy on this show! I have watched Newsroom twice as well. I am due for another Sunset Strip. The acting/dialogue is phenom! I just watched all the Aaron Sorkin episodes of The West Wing this Spring! Sometimes, you just need really good fastballs coming your way and a guaranteed smile on your face!

Thanks for the tip Lily - I’m doin’ it! :-)

Don’t forget “Sports Night” the beginning of the [fast-moving acting & dialog] and the combination of Sorkin and his favorite director Thomas Schlamme (Lahti’s husband) really worked. Episodes were written for future seasons and were intellectually done like “West Wing” but the candy for the cardboard masses “30 Rock” won out when dumbass NBC programming execs should have never ever made them compete.

WOW! I had no idea that Shlamme was married to Lahti - his directing is divine and she’s a goddess! I have never seen Sports Night. Just the name makes me think it’s something just men would like and I am not a sports person. But I loved My Boys like crazy! I should just get over it, eh?

The first few episodes are pretty good. As it get more dramatic, it gets worse and worse. By episode 12 it makes no sense, because the writing becomes crap.
Noone would put up with the abuse that every new character brings to the show. A doctor who perpetually lies, a lawyer who interrupts the most crucial work to flirt, a air force “comfort” officer who only instills rage and abuse. Mathew Perry playing his drug habits out in a show. I hope Perry didn’t write this, because none of these people are real. At episode 3 I wanted more, at episode 12 I should have given up.
