Ted Lasso centers on an idealistic — and clueless — all-American football coach hired to manage an English football club — despite having no soccer coaching experience at all.
I read the synopsis and thought another spoof show that will suck..I couldn’t be more WRONG. First few min I thought Lasso was an idiot but he is brilliant. Can’t stop watching this show. Like every other review in this discussion has said it is actually a great show.
I think this is the show that a lot of us need right now. It’s so positive and upbeat, I have often disliked Jason Sudeikis because he frequently plays characters that I find unlikable but he is the very definition of likable in this. Could not recommend it enough. I will say that you’re not gonna bust a gut, it’s not as if it’s not funny but you don’t have those big belly laughs, you will come away feeling better about life though.
Amazing show! Plot, character development, action and, drama! It’s exactly what you need to lift your spirits and remind you how good life is. Well done. Can’t wait for more.
This show is very well balanced, funny and heartwarming. Excited to see the growth of the team. Makes me want to meet a “Ted Lasso” type character in person
Such a feel good plot and characters. And it does feel very good. Highly enjoyable with a very positive message, for a change. Love and kindness are always the best long term weapons Brilliantly acted as well, by all. Full marks
Don’t listen to critics on this one! Much better than I expected, even though the plot line is pretty derivative. Hit me in the feels, which I didn’t expect, & lots of Dad humor that won’t make you roll your eyes. (much)
I’ve already posted on the first couple of episodes as I just love this show. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, when I can sit and tear up over a show like this. It’s all so well balanced, so amazingly casted, and I don’t give a toss about what show it looks like, what the script reminds you off, this is just feel good TV when it’s best tbh.
I really love this show. I had no idea, didn’t think I would like it but as a coach it really hits home. What a great lesson in the importance/power of positivity and believing in people. Bravo!
predictable , cliche and REALLY REALLY GOOD !! Helped that I went into this with low expectations and have been really surprised , funny in all the right ways , cant wait for the next episode

Wow. This was not anything like I was expecting and I’m not even sure what I was expecting. I’m not a sportsball fan at all. But this was the most charming, uplifting, touching thing I’ve seen in a long time.
It’s only tangentially related to sports or specifically soccer/football. Yes, there are plenty of sports scenes and it takes place mostly on the field or in the locker room but those scenes are framed in a way that even I, a non-sportsballer, can understand. At it’s heart it’s about how people should treat each other by uplifting, not tearing down.
I’m so glad this has been renewed, I can’t wait for season 2.
being a professional coach in any form of sport has its ups and downs and they have all seen thier fair share of bitterness, happiness, sadness, dissapointment. all coaches have to be mother, father, priest, warrior, confidant and leader, to that extent, to be able to maintain a high quality outlook and being able to still be so optimistic despite all that happens i have to say the writers are either highly intelligent, or extremely jaded and refuse to let lasso give up or give in which makes for a really great show. it may take a few episodes to get into it or to like the lead and other charecters but in my opinion it was almost a full season for me to fully be able to enjoy the subtley of such a show give it a chance and you might just be suprised
If you’ve ever watched the original Ted Lasso from the NBC Sports spots promoting the Premier League you know that this incarnation is very different and according to Jason Sudeikis, we have Trump to thank for that. After observing how divided we were becoming and the increasing lack of civility occurring in public spaces during Trump’s bid for the presidency, Sudeikis decided he didn’t want to add to that atmosphere so they went in a very different direction with his character. Sadly, the ones most in need of the lessons this show offers are the ones least likely to watch it.
not actually funny imo but has very similar drama/ satire to “ballers” and is well written and acted - the chief protagonist wants her “woman scorned” revenge story is building nicely look forward to see where this goes
Well that was a fun watch. 2 season’s of pure joy and excitement with dad jokes a plenty. If you need a metaphor this is the show for you. Highly recommend. 9/10

Another surprise of a gem that grabs you by the seat of the pants, glues you to your screen, when you should be out and about already. ;)

Good News! Per thestreamable.com, a much requested new season has been confirmed. Jason Sudeikis is among the returning cast for Season 4.
Ted Lasso returns July 23rd!!
Didn’t like ep1 much, ep2 was better, better enough to keep watchin.

Returning Soon! Season 2 drops from Apple+ on Friday July 23rd, 2021.
Season 3 is a miss, terrible writing. The magic is gone.

The 1st season was brilliant. Not feeling it so much this season. Less humor and way more feels. The emotional manipulation is getting tiresome.
A smile here and there, not worth the hype.Always wonder if the investor machine hypes mediocre series like this for returns.
Same premise as blazing saddles it would seem
Reminded me more of “Major League” in terms of the owner’s motivations.
does this get funny? I couldn’t make it through the first episode it was so dull
*edited after watching ep 2
nope still no humor to be found…boring and dull too
