Wow. This was not anything like I was expecting and I’m not even sure what I was expecting. I’m not a sportsball fan at all. But this was the most charming, uplifting, touching thing I’ve seen in a long time.
It’s only tangentially related to sports or specifically soccer/football. Yes, there are plenty of sports scenes and it takes place mostly on the field or in the locker room but those scenes are framed in a way that even I, a non-sportsballer, can understand. At it’s heart it’s about how people should treat each other by uplifting, not tearing down.
I’m so glad this has been renewed, I can’t wait for season 2.
