Detective Vic Mackey is the leader of an elite Strike Team unit, a group of cops effective at eliminating crime but also operating under Vic's own set of rules. But his rules sometimes cross the fine line between legal and illegal. Now the precinct has a new captain who doesn't like Vic's tactics and wants to bust him off the force - even as the captain finds himself going to Vic for help whenever the going gets rough. |

This is one of the few series which you can always go back and watch again and again, not only because it’s that good, but because you always find something new that you either missed before but you can see now because you have a clearer understanding of the characters and are familiar with the story line ahead of time and know things which you wouldn’t be aware of until later episodes.
Such a great show from beginning to end. Great premise, terrific storyline(s) and a great a great cast as well. It’s both cool and humorous to see later on how Kurt Sutter (who was part of “The Shield” production staff) went on to create the equally terrific “Sons of Anarchy” and bring back a number of the actors from “The Shield” to do cameos as different characters in that series too
