Dave, a graphic designer sells his beloved 67 Chevelle to buy an engagement ring in a desperate attempt to propose to his girlfriend, Mica, and keep her from moving away. On Dave’s way to propose to her he crosses paths with a provocative, boundary-crossing and forcibly involved fine artist, Taylor. Highly interested in the concept of Dave’s supposedly unrelenting romance, she begins to pry into Dave’s mind with the intention of figuring out how a person can decide they want to be with someone forever, as it is not a theme Taylor is familiar with. As she gets to know him better she tries to rationalize his repressive tendencies, forcing him to re-evaluate his relationship and what’s important to him. Meanwhile as Dave drives to Mica on the day she plans to leave for New York, he has his seemingly nuisance of a friend Jake deliver his web designs to a desired buyer, Mr. Johnson. Mr. Johnson, a hot-tempered CEO, whom is going through a divorce, poses the possibility at a good job offer dependent on Dave’s designs. Dave sells his beautifully restored vintage 67 Chevelle that has enhanced his life for years so that he can buy Mica a nice engagement ring. He becomes increasingly irritable and frustrated as he deals with not only the nerves of proposing, but his nuisance of a roommate Jake, newly acquainted fine artist Taylor, and his unreliable used Geo-Metro, which is ultimately his only way of getting to Mica. |
