In this gem of an animated short, filmmaker and broadcaster Sook-Yin Lee contemplates one of the more challenging relationships in her life. Through delightfully detailed puppets and stop-motion animation, director Jim Goodall captures one woman’s rocky relationship with a single hue, and all the joy and heartache that comes with it. ‘Orange’ is part of a trilogy of autobiographical locket-sized portraits that wrestle with a recurring theme in Sook-Yin’s work: the search for love and connection. |
