i liked the beasties they were some really pissed off creatures -turn ya brain off to all the scientific stuff and just enjoy -“-no mention of any butterfly affect which had me chortling to myself -conspiracy santa” had me pmsl -most of the time this just plays out like video game so grab ya fav beverage turn ya brain off and just enjoy the action -havbt seen this many out numbered since GOT with white walkers fight

Oh Yvonny Yvonny Yvonny, only a few days ago i was hating your @ss for the atrocities you perpetrated in The Handmaid’s Tale but today I’m feeling bad you died a horrible death in this movie.
I’m a sucker for anything time travel. This movie was Entertaining and all but honestly they could have done better. So in the future they have the technology to create time travel but they couldn’t develop and manufacture better weapons to kill those aliens and the best they could do is still automatic assault riffles? Even in this day and age humanity still has better weapons how much more 28years in the future? Also you had the possibility to travel 30years into the past and the best plan they could come up with is to recruit those who were already dead in the future? Shouldn’t they have spent the 30years researching and developing better weapons?
This is the kind of movie if you think too hard it ruins the movie.
This is something that’s hard for me to do because when you use fiction to go outside the boundaries of what’s real and currently possible (such as time travel), then you enter into the realm of unprecedented options of endless possibilities, so you should atleast use those options wisely.

I’m sure they DID research (and make) better weapons, and a better way to kill ‘em and into making a time machine, and as many guns and bullets as possible. But bigger guns (and all that bigger ammo) than assault rifles for all those soldiers to carry are heavy.
They had known for 30 yrs that they’d eventually build a time machine (and hopefully a better way to kill ‘em) but it took them 30 yrs to figure out how.
They knew (by looking at their future histories) the old guys they sent were less useful in the past for breeding, etc. And Pratt was specifically sent for by Yvonne.

Hit the nail on the head of this being a typical summer blockbuster. They all share the same formula of stuffing a bunch of action and special effects to make up for lack of good acting and script.
The time travel kinda makes sense though, there are issues with it, but it defo isn’t the biggest issue, my biggest issue is that they didn’t make the deadly compound as a gas.
Then there was the issue that they had proof about the alien crash landing and yet they said they have none?!? and they don’t believe an officer who has been involved in command decisions in the future? He defo has more information than the military leadership about the enemy, so if he points out a possible location of the ship, their first priority should be to gather forces, find the ship and nuke it, at the end of the movie there was a lot of unnecessary blodshed, none of the people involved in execution phase of alien destruction should had died, in fact they probably shouldn’t had blown up the ship before getting some information off the computers of that ship, there’s obviously still fully functional systems if those aliens could survive a millenia.
if I ignore those things, this is my 2nd favorite movie of this year, behind killers wife’s bodyguard.
I had questions like these too, but people say i think too much, that i should just turn off my brain and watch the movies that’s on offer. But is it too much to as for things to just make common sense fiction or not?
most of it makes sense and technically the movie explains a lot of the Sci-Fi stuff, time travel in this movie basically means that you can’t go to a time where you exist and we don’t know if it’s for paradoxes or simply the fact that the travel is related to your DNA.
Personally I just think that the majority of people aren’t really using their brains while watching the movie and you should forget biases of how time travel works in different Sci-Fi universes, tbh there wasn’t much Sci-Fi beyond time travel.
Why are some people crying about the reality of a science FICTION movie? Come on its not a real live show or a documentary, its movie, everything can in a movie thats why we love them. If you don’t like that then just don’t watch movies but programs on discovery or something like that. When I was a kid I liked cartoons but i never did think; oh thats fake. No, like normal people I liked it because it was fake and impossible thats is I say it again, the whole point of a movie.

Time travel is always the solution. Why have we not cracked the science behind it 🤓. In interesting movie with good action scenes. If you are an adrenaline freak like me then you will like this one
The people just saying that this is a great movie definitely threw all logic out the window regarding the time travel. Anyone ever heard of the butterfly effect and how things should be changing in future everytime they head back to past? Also, why not use the technology to ready people in the past to prevent invasion instead of recruiting them to potentially die in the future which would cause a huge ripple and more deaths ultimately? A lot of cool action scenes with a bit of comedy, but this was full of plot holes.
Its even worse than that. Every single person they pull from the past exponentially decreases the population in the future. Pulling people from the past is probably the reason they have a troops shortage to begin with. Its the most idiotic plan I have ever heard. If the troops shortage was really the primary issue they should have sent people from the future to impregnate people in the past thereby increasing the future population or just sent couples back in time to have families and raise more children that would be fighting age by the time the war broke out.
The ppl in the past were already gearing up manufacturing, research, breeding, etc. ever since the 1st time soldiers appeared to them on the soccer field, gave ‘em the warning AND a bunch of future tech.
They were able to check every draftee’s future to see what wd happen if they stayed. Heavy breeders likely got deferments. The ones sent to the future were all past their peak reproductive ages so better they go off to fight than get in the younger breeders’ way.
The ppl from the future were already severely shorthanded by when the time machine was built. Soldiers from the future were better used to fight rather than breed (besides, they were already the product of the past’s breeding programs—and inbreeding wd be a danger).
The younger men living in the past wd be more than happy and willing to fulfill their patriotic duties of increased breeding. No more monogamy, bang like bunnies? Sign me up, sir!
A butterfly effect? They were trying for a butterfly effect to change a future that o/wise was total annihilation.
Besides the first sentence, everything else you said is just assumptions and never explained in movie. You do realize that the moment they went to past that they created an alternate timeline, so the future they were being sent to fight technically wasn’t there own. The aliens would still attack them in future and they would have to do this over again if the timeline is linear like they portrayed here. It only would make sense if they just prepared the past instead of risking lives of people from the past which would alter their future worse.
What I said was ALL in the movie. And you’re assuming your version of a timeline theory is valid for this flick.
They DID prepare the past. All the changes the future ppl started by going back to the past (preparations, etc.) already HAD happened to them.
They had been busting their future butts trying to build a time machine that worked so they cd go back and warn their ancestors and start it all, so they wd at least have a better fighting chance of growing up and surviving (and time to discover the toxin)— and maybe find a way to get rid of the aliens in the past, hopefully before they multiplied and attacked.
It would all have happened over and over if Pratt and Dad hadn’t found the aliens’ source in the past and stopped it.

Let me break this down even more simpler for you, the fact that they changed everything in the past PROVES my theory. There was no reason to risk innocent people’s lives in the past since they brought future tech and knowledge to prepare them. Did you see all those ill prepared “soldiers” who weren’t even given proper weapons or briefed on the alien monsters to know what they’re fighting?? They had several ways to kill these creatures including missiles and apparently helicopter blades. We have tons of chemical weapons that would’ve worked currently and makes zero sense how people from future were smart enough to build time machine but not smart enough to figure out how to build weapons to kill these creatures. This movie focused on Chris Pratt’s family surrounded by this illogical story making them the heroes which even the creators can’t explain away. They already created an alternate timeline by just going into the past making the future they went to a timeline where they never used a time machine, so those people died for nothing. You think his daughter would’ve remembered that whole different life if that isn’t true??

You won’t believe how bad it is. Imagine the cheesiest, mindless Mexican telenovelas. This movie is so bad on every level. It doesn’t make any sense from start to finish. I can’t even find the worst parts, because everything is badly executed. It deserves Razzie Awards for everybody involved.
I think maybe it just didn’t make sense to you. Watch it again, pay attention this time and think about it. There’s far fewer holes and nonsensical parts than you assumed when you put all the pieces together.

This was entertaining but not a good movie, like an Indenpendence Day movie, it gets your on your seat for the novelty and adventure, but nothing new that you never saw before. Edge of Tomorrow was way better but only because you watch Tom Cruise die a lot of times. Good for a one time watch if you liked I.D.

Come on…”The Edge of Tomorrow” is a masterpiece. This is just a cheesy one time watch. It could have been so much better, but oh well…still watchable.

I see certain negative Nancie’s have already made it to the party haha I thought this was awesome!!! I didn’t see one thing to complain about. YES, it’s over 2 hours long but every time it starts to get even the slightest bit dull-BAM!! Something happens Lol Great story, interesting cast, and hell I even thought the ending was good. Obviously certain people see it differently but in all honesty the ONLY complain I had wasn’t even the movie. It’s Netflix and their 1800’s sound guy!! The talking is so quite you can barely hear it and then if there’s action it’s guaranteed to blow your speakers Lol Other than that, I thought this was well worth the watch!!! Tried to upvote you several times but didn’t work for some reason. Had a problem like yours. Very little volume and tried several links, hooked up to the TV with an HDMI cable, tv and computer volume turned all the way up, and had a hard time hearing it. finally gave up somewhere near the 14 minute mark. Really wanted to watch this.
Might give it another shot later, sometimes new links act up on me for some reason, no idea why, but if I give them a little time to age they work better. Like a day. I have no clue why this is, but that does seem to be the case sometimes. Might work for me here, might not. Never had a problem upvoting before though…
do like i do download it watch with VLC player but have compressor setting ticked and set ratio @ 20-1 (i think) its new update and they changed all their settings) so not entirely sure BUT on mine all loud and quiet stuff is matched -low voices are as loud as explosions for a more balanced setting
I’ve tried downloading and watching (which I really don’t like doing, would rather just watch online, less risky, less chance of catching something), and almost every time I have done that, as the show progressed, the sound got more and more out of sync, just the people talking with the lips moving, the rest seemed to be fine though, have no idea why….
I used Version 68 and the sound was good for me.

Don’t listen to all the negativity on here, this was a great movie and definitely worth a watch. The relationship between Chris Pratt and his wife was a little unbelievable and didn’t seem to have a connection, but other than that it was a great movie. I like how they made this a little bit longer so they could put more of the story and action all together into it so you could understand exactly what was going on and how it was happening.
Good stuff.It may be a little over 2hrs long, but it doesn’t seem like it. Action, solid plot. Cast isn’t bad. I could see myself watching it again. 4/5 (5 stars are reserved for flics like Pulp Fiction and The Prophecy).

I didn’t think it was cheesy at all. And for the people complaining about time paradoxes and butterfly effects, did you actually watch the same movie as I did? That was kind of the premise of the film.

This got so much hate. Too much. Was it any better or worse than something like Oblivion? I give it a green light at %51+ percent. It was NOT a total garbage fest waste of time. I was entertained enough to say ‘I liked it’. did I love it? no. did it have a couple of ‘suspend your logic here’ moments? Yes. Overall, was it a pretty good time? Yes. Will I make sure I own it on Blueray for all time? No, probably not. Would I recommend it to someone who is bored? Yeah probably. would I watch it again? On my own, no. but if my GF or important friend wanted to see it for the first time, yeah, I’d watch again.

This was fun enough I tried to ignore the very very big plot holes, so big a train could pass through. But the cast, the cgi direction etc. are…lets say very effective.

This wasn’t progressive enough for me… to much family values…I liked the globalist message,but we globalists find family sexist and racist. When we yield absolute power we shall correct these with an Iron fist. Otherwise it was fun to watch.

Just come back in time with coordinates and information. To stop it at it’s source. Tell them your improvements in science and weaponry so by the time 30 years past we are a more advanced species.
No we are going to send people into the future to a 70% death rate lol. I mean it’s a movie so gotta not solve it in first 10 mins I get it. They kinda went there at the end anyway with the poison. Still was enjoyable though.
When the future guys first went back they brought tech and training to the past. But no one knew or found the information on the source till after Pratt and crew had gone back to the past. The toxin was only invented right before he left.
They knew the first attack on Russia from the very beginning when the ‘Future People” first arrived. So just with that information and bring technology and information on the Aliens. They could of just prepared with that and stopped them at the start.
No, the Russia attack was just when they were 1st noticed. The bugs had dispersed around the world before that.
No, The ship was in Russia. We learn this at the end. The first attack was in Russia which is why they thought they landed their undetected. Then within 3 years they spread and killed everyone.
Yeah, they shoulda thot of that. More of a bad decision on their part than a flaw in the story. Good thing they didn’t, o/wise the flick woulda sucked.
But too, the ship wasn’t the site of the 1st attack. And Russia is a big place.

very basic, very “disney” ending, weak plot with obvious happenings. Of course that guy was gonna sac himself, of course that was his daughter, of course they were gonna go back to the volcano kid. The fact chris was talking about returning to 30 years in the future to save his daughter was stupid asf because the whole point of him taking the toxin was to make it so the future is changed. The line where he talks about how she changed him and he’ll never leave his family is hilarious since he left his wife Anna Faris and their son lol. Chris can’t act, he’s desperate to be Tom Cruise.

Definitely watchable, but nothing award winning… Except for maybe the creature design, that was very cool.
That was alright, it didn’t make sense but it was a good watch - action, special effects and a bit of a story. I like a creature feature. There is a fat grandfather paradox to their time travel, you’ve been warned!
Where are the TR3B’S in the future? Their planes are kinda antiquated. Fun movie non the less.

Fantastic film. Time is a strange soup, there’s a couple of “Wait, how come…” moments but overall very good movie,
LOL—yeah, lots of but..but… questions from ppl. Many of ‘em get discussed deep in the spoilers posts. But there’s a lot fewer holes than you’d think— and the story fits together better with fewer paradoxes than it seems on the surface. Was a bit confusing, the ways the answers got explained piece by piece in diff. scenes in the movie, for sure.
I want a flame thrower, some hand grenades, a DDT Fogger, some claymores,
a 30-06 Thomson machine gun, and some magnesium chip flairs, a mini gun, and maybe a tank. Those 5.7mm rifles are way too ineffective. If that won’t work I will get me a bigger hammer.
