Once a year for half a century, Paul is visited upon by his boozing war buddy Frank for a game of chess. Throughout the years, they have lost everything to which they’ve devoted themselves - except for this little tradition of theirs. But, even that has begun to lose purpose and meaning, leaving them to another game of chance, a game much more dangerous and with a very certain resolution. |
