Khaggam is a short film about two young adventurous British female writers - writing a book on the various occult myths or tales supposedly enveloping India - coming to India to discover a certain ascetic in a jungle, known for his mysterious occult powers, and supposedly possessing an “icchadari” snake which he could make assume the form of a human being and vice versa at his will and command, and a racy self-imposed guide who treats such phenomena as pure rubbish but tags along as his actual interest lies in seducing the girls. In an encounter at the mystic ascetic’s place, the guide in a rage kills the ascetic’s “icchadari” snake. In the aftermath of such an action of the guide, do the girls really discover this ascetic’s fearful occult powers to be true? What does the disbelieving guide himself discover? What unfolds next is a chain of events most bizarre. |
