After a prolonged absence, Dahlia returns to Bulgaria to visit her hometown on the Danube. However, her high expectations of a friendly family reunion fail her and she becomes aware of the distance between herself and her cousin and childhood friend, Emil. As they must attend the funeral of a family member, past resentments surface and their relationship turns hostile. In the meantime, Emil’s memory is stirred as well and causes him to reconsider, however reluctantly. After the funeral, both reach to a realization about their past which leads them to a reconciliation of sorts.
