An older woman, despairing over her alcoholic husband and inability to get pregnant, goes to Israel in search of a blessing. A Mystic tries to get rid of her nicely by telling her to ‘Go! Eat a bagel!’ but she thinks this her blessing. She returns to her husband, eats a bagel, and wonder of wonders - nine months later she has a child. |
