Details:

‘Why Stop Painting?’ was originally shot and edited as a six-screen theatrical film performance for display in central London on June 19th, 2012. It depicts a day in the life of an artist and his family, including two younger children and eldest daughter CJ, who became distanced from the family on account of her changing gender. On the night of this day the artist holds an exhibition at a nearby gallery, which the audience on June 19th came to realize was the exhibition in which they were viewing the film. What you see here is a condensed three-screen version of that showing, with the last scene having been recorded at the film’s own display.
