A journey of family, love and ancestral spirits, Spirit Stones follows the story of elderly indigenous woman Eva, and her desire to keep her native language alive amongst the future generations of her family. Torn apart by tragedy, the Tangye family are all but lost to each other, until a young boy finds a mysterious stone in a river, left there by Eva before her death. Through this Spirit Stone, the powerful and transcendent force of Eva’s enduring love surpasses time and physical boundaries to bring them back together again, fifty years after her death. Imbued with a sense of the supernatural, fate becomes bedfellows with destiny in this short film about the power of family love, and the importance of keeping the ancestral stories of Australia’s first inhabitants alive.
