This documentary short examines the conditions and treatment of the mentally ill in Indonesia through the lens of the young, American photographer, Gabriela. Gabby travels to the Yayasan Galuh, a private mental health facility where nightmares come true. Patients afflicted with ‘Sakit Jiwa,’ or spirit sickness, are embarrassed and dehumanized by their daily lack of basic human rights. |
