Ben, a journalist suffering from writers block struggles to deliver a headline story to his anxious newspaper editor. The unexpected arrival of Agnieszka, his wife’s Polish cousin on a quest to become America’s next pop queen, takes his unproductive yet salvageable day into the potentially bleak abyss of total failure. Ben attempts to write his career-breaking crime article with Agnieszka vying for his attention. On the outside, Ben is a polite and patient host. On the inside he is a festering cauldron of angst. Her desperation for a warm American welcome threatens to send Ben over the edge. |
