This hits way to close to home. They did an amazing job putting this movie together, makes you really take a close look at things and how they are.

Mass surveillance, police militarization, that sounds more like now than an imagined idea of 50 years in the future.
It’s going to take a spark to turn things quite as bad, but your friendly billion and trillionaires will soon turn nasty once their wealth and power are threatened, and currently it is their dream to gain the power to crush you like cockroaches should you dare to.

The sheep will always be fooled by the Wolves. There aren’t enough powerful Sheepdogs to protect the sheep. There honestly isn’t anything that can be done to stop what will come to pass. It’s too late. Tyrant LEOs are getting away with their heinous crimes, big Pharma continues to gain more power, celebrities get away with the horrendous things they do, etc. The 1% will always be on top, and will crush the 99% underneath them. The Constitution aren’t laws in concrete when the elite can use it as ass wipe paper. This will become fact and has been in motion for years.

This is exceptional. Need to watch it twice. Most of the footage is real from Hong Kong, Gaza, floods and fires. We are already here.
Interesting that on IMDB, most of the downvotes are from the U.S.

Well made, scary, infuriating.
Many scenes, images make you wanna skip back and see again.
Often hard to tell which parts are the documentary and what is some near future sifi.

Kinda happy I’m an old fart who won’t be around to see if the whole flick all becomes a doc, but the way things are going, that’s what WILL happen.
Be sure to catch the little bit at the end of the credits.

More left wing lies and trash made into a movie that the left wing today are doing. I made it 10 minutes in before turning it off.

it was kinda inverted for me, in la jetee the filmic parts were the existential poesis supported by the footage (it was a long time ago i saw it). whereas in this, the adam curtis esque / democracy now episode esque documentary part is decent but the imagination for the framing through this future scenario is lacking imo. also some of the dystopian scenes of people seem a bit invasive. I used to be a street photographer, but felt eventually that it was not appropriate. its a tricky subject and everyone has their opinion, i doubt some of the people featured would appreciate being recast like this. .. a mixed review.. but in short it seems forced, not the poetry of la jetee.. i appreciate the emphasis and moral implications but also cant seem to shake some kind of underlying george monbiot liberalism, which, given some of the terrific interviewees like maria ressa, a better analysis could have ensued.
