= Low Quality | = Medium Quality | = High Quality | How do I watch these? |
I thought Nicole Kidman was a good pick for Lucy. She had the voice down pat and depending on how she wore her hair, side view she looked like Lucy. As for the movie, I learned a few things about them I did not know. Not great, but an okay watch.
Lucille Ball. One of the greatest comedians known for many things and one of those things was her facial expressions, her visual comedy. Considering that, Nicole Kidman’s lack of ability to show facial expressions just saddens me.
I think Nicole did a great job with the voice, same look n long legs n lean body and I didn’t even know it was her playing till I took a good look at her and verified her name. It wasn’t her actually doing the T.V show but their personal and business life so she didn’t need to do all the comic face stuff in this movie.
This is a biopic though. It’s not a movie about the Ricardo characters, it’s about Lucy and Desi themselves making the show (though Amazon is doing a reboot of “I Love Lucy” soon with the upcoming “All For Lucy” which has already swapped Fred and Ethel for a same sex couple but that’s another thing for another day)
of course they did..lol gotta redo everything to fit the new world.. lol
Messing does an IMPERSONATION of the comedy persona of Lucy. This is a quasi-biopic of Lucy. Different thing entirely.
Debra Messing is an unprofessional dunce
If it wasn’t for Lucille Ball willing to give (a then unknown) Gene Roddenberry a chance back in the 60ies a chance? There never would’ve been “Star Trek” (The Original Series)
nobody is talking about Javier Bardem… What a bad…BAD.. choice for Ricky….
Release date December 10, 2021. Looks good!
Release date December 10, 2021 in theaters but December 21 it will be released on PrimeVideo
Finally got around to watching this, overall I liked it. I like Nicole Kidman but as someone else mentioned, her lack of facial expression brought it down a bit. And the actor who played Desi did an ok job but he didn’t the role. One thing I didn’t know is that William Frawley and Vivian Vance hated each other.
