This is now by far my favourite Predator movie!
I really wasn’t expecting this to be so incredibly good.
Blew me away!
Can’t say enough about how well they made this movie.
It was time for a good Predator movie. See what a Predator does on his day off in 1712. Plenty of animal and human prey to keep his attention.
I haven’t watched such a good movie in a long time. Give it a try
Liked this one, thought it was really good. Was on a site that had comments, and noticed that you had 2 kinds of people commenting, those that just liked the movie, and said so, and others that it seemed just couldn’t stand the fact that it had a female lead, and tried to go out of their way to disparage the movie on account of that.
Some of them made some of the stupidest comments on account of that, and couldn’t help myself on a couple occasions but to get in there and fact check their BS. Think I shamed a couple, as they stopped commenting back to me, as I stopped getting notifications from them in my email about comments in return from them.
Some people just can’t enjoy a good movie when it hits them in the face anymore, just have to find something to be miserable about, and then have to try and find a way to make others miserable as well. Too bad, it was a good movie, the female lead kicked butt, and it was done is some really slammin’ countryside on top of it all.
Glad I watched it.
I don’t think people have a problem with Female lead role. It’s just the fact that a lot of these modern movies with female role , they make the men weak and useless and a lot bad writing . We all enjoyed Alien movies and that was female lead . Also, in recently the movie “Old Guard” was female lead and was an excellent movie . I thought this predator was ok in a passable way , nothing special because the plot and story lacked depth and character.
In a lot of cases I would agree, but if you could have seen some of these posts, these people were going out of their way just to find fault with this, and in the most childish ways you can think of that just deserved to be called out. And I normally just stay quiet on things as it’s just not worth saying anything.
Clearly making stuff up in some cases up, just flat out hating, was just flat out painful to see…and for the record, I really liked ‘Old Guard’, would like to see another movie made based on that, picking up where they left off.
Yeah, I’ve seen the whining about how unbelievable it is that a little girl could take out a predator. Their alpha male delusions that they too could take on a predator like Arnold did are threatened by the notion that a diminutive female might be able to do the same. How fragile the male ego can be.
Stop “whinimg.”
yes, mother.
Correction acknowledged.
🤣
Prey was fantastic. Anoyne bummed out on the franchise after the more middling entries of late, should give it a shot. Easily the best Predator film since Arnie’s first entry, it starts off a bit slow and continues to build from there, with a likable protagonist who you end up rooting for (unlike, say, The Predator from 2018 where one roots for the Predator). Multiple callbacks to the first two films, were a nice treat as well.
What a wonderful addition to the Predator franchise. Great acting, storytelling and character development and more than enough action to satisfy.
A sorta “coming of age” meets Scifi action thriller where you have the heroine seeking to become a hunter (and not the medicine woman her mother wants her to be) by killing a large prey or predator animal who crosses paths with a “Predator” who is basically trying to do the same thing, just with better weaponry.
This was excellent Check it out if you have not seen it. You will not be disappointed.
That was pretty cool. Indigenous peoples are always good actors and their names are cool af.
Kytwayhat or Midthunder? I’m not a fan of translated names. It seems disrespectful to not call someone by their name in their own language.
Yes.
my wife a chocktaw preferred people to use the English translation of her name. she said it was too painful to hear their attempts at pronouncing it in her native tongue and prevented the inevitable “what does it mean?”. besides little lightning was an apt description of her…iskitini hilohab 1969-1996
Both names sound very cool to me. :)
If you’re a fan of Prey, then read on. Badlands will be the latest movie that will soon go into production. Prey saw the Yautja arrive in North America during the early 18th century, and previous installments saw them take on modern-day Earth. Director Dan Trachtenberg has only offered teases about the plot of Badlands, but it will likely take place sometime in the future. It is also known that the lead character will be a woman, which continues the trend seen in Prey with Amber Midthunder’s Naru. Prey took the Predator farther back in the timeline than ever before, and Badlands could do the opposite by seeing how the Yautja hunt humans in the distant future when they are more technologically advanced. It could be that Badlands intends to pay off many of the ideas established in Predator 2, which offered a pseudo-futuristic look at Los Angeles.
All the predator movies are great!
She was smarter than the Beaver.
This was ok, passable . They just can’t seem to get predator right again. Best ones where 1 and 2. I also enjoyed the alien vs predator too(one is the ice place ) . One annoying thing in this film was all the Men were A* holes for no reason . I don’t know if that was agenda based or what….
The entire history of mankind is pretty much men being a holes. lol
One sided viewpoint . It takes two to tangle . Not man or women is solely responsible.
You’ve got to be kidding, right? Most societies since the beginning of humanity have been patriarchies. Operating from a position of power versus doing so as a member of an oppressed group are not equal comparisons. FYI, having a different viewpoint doesn’t necessarily mean that viewpoint has any real value. Facts don’t care about your feelings. BTW, the saying is it takes two to tango. Which is ironic because, like most dances, the male takes the lead. lol
To tangle?
haha
Heard that it was suppose to be the best Predator movie expect for the first with Arnold. Naah don’t agree. In short it’s the first Predator movie in 1700 and with a Predator without any real weapons. So They have spaceships, laser sights, high-tech gear but fight with bow and arrow? Doesn’t quite get that logic. I liked the main character Naru in the beginning of the movie but then as always Hollywood think that a strong woman needs to be arrogant and dislike everyone who has another opinion about said character which just makes it so hard to like her and the character. Mostly because it’s how Disney operates who owns fox. You have a in training girl who is less experienced than the other hunters but still she survives etc.
Overall it was enjoyable but I was feeling sorry for Predator in the end. :’( I would give it a 6/10. It is worth a watch but won’t be seeing it again. Made me miss Arnold and the real Predator from 1987 ! :D <3
If you can get past your “she’s a girl so she can’t be a better hunter than the men” apprehension then you might enjoy the movie.
Got no beef with that, what I do have a problem with is bad character and writing. She is suppose to be completely inexperienced and haven’t even had one single kill but all of a sudden she get years of experience just because she talks down to people and have an arrogant and childish behavior. To draw a parallel, I watched Alien vs Predator again last night (seen it so many times) and there you have a believable strong female character which has years of experience and are experienced in her field and the character is not stuck up on hating on other people just because of it. Similar can be said about the first Predator movie. Arnold’s character had experience and a believable backstory so it was not out of nowhere when he killed the Predator.
It’s funny how you get hate in this generation of movies and tv if you don’t like bad writing and it doesn’t matter if it’s a guy or a girl. But people can’t hear a different critique about a film they enjoyed without taking it personally. Kinda obvious why you can’t rate movies and tv-shows on Disney+ ;)
Inexperienced characters who fight/kill the monster/bad guy is not new. Ripley in Alien, John Connor in T2, Ash in Evil Dead, most superheroes… It’s classic Hollywood unrealistic exaggeration so the kids and nerds would relate to the protagonist
Did anyone notice the easter eggs paving the way for a Prey 2?
Amber Midhunter looks like Alyssa Diaz from the Rookie
After watching the Revenant, the only good thing about this movie was the female lead. I really tried, but such a budget was wasted on someone’s profits.
I’m really surprised there’s only one link for this movie. Does anyone know where I can watch it in Comanche? I was told the Comanche version with english subtitles is the best way to watch it. People who complained about the dialogue being bad — it’s because they wrote it in Comanche then translated it.
This was actually ok, more or less the same as the original, minus muscles!
