With his only connection to the outside world lying in Portland businessman Amir, taciturn, meditative hermit Rob has found solace deep in the heart of the dense Oregon forests and the unique bond with his only companion: his beloved truffle-hunting pig. Tired of grappling with the profound sadness of prolonged grief, Rob relies on a simple daily routine to keep his sanity, self-respect, and dignity, utterly unaware that he has already caught unwanted attention. Now, his best friend is missing, and revenge can only make things worse. Indeed, strange as it sounds, inconsolable Rob only wants his pig back, and if he has to, he’ll go to the edge of the world to find her. But first things first. Who has Rob’s pig? |

OMG😭! Beautiful! That’s the Nick that we all forget about! When he’s out there making, just for fun(not always good), over the top crazy and weird movies, we forget about him starting out as a serious actor. We forget he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in Leaving Las Vegas, beating out Anthony Hopkins, Richard Dreyfuss and Sean Penn… WOW! This movie was a testament to his range and shows he still has the ability to not only be serious but also break our hearts! His timing was exceptional, I was emotional throughout the whole movie. Thanx 4 links! Happy Watching!
I think a lot of people missed the point of this movie…it was way more subtle than Nicks usual movie roles lately.[he never turns down a role] This was a drama, not a thriller and if you were also expecting weird, wild and crazy Nick, then I can see why you’d be disappointed. The movie poster is all wrong too, its not about him being crazy or violent…its him being serious and sad. I love seeing him go back to his roots and play a serious role again. He shines when doing serious dramas and off-beat indie cult classic type roles.
Solid performance by Cage for a change. This is the Nick we remember. This is a deep dram about love and loss and Nick pulls it off. 5/5
Sooooo when will PIG 2 be out???
For The Win
I love Nick-No matter what! I’m intrigued and excited to see this! Thanx
a beautiful film. nic’s best since mandy…
Great movie. It is like the anti-action flick. So many scenes that could have peaked with confrontation peak with empathy yet still engage you. Fantastic.
This is the Nick we Know & Love 5/5 stars. A movie that takes you away from the real world. Good cast & plot…. Thank you
yes the lines were deep and he said them so well i immediately teared up ,shocked by my own emotions and how he was able to trigger that in me. The movie takes an unexpected turn that really got to me, loss is a terrible thing to endure. Also his costar Alex Wolff was amazing as well. With Nick, just the way he is able to subtly show his emotions, they say so much without him actually saying a word, he can get you with just the sadness in his eyes. He’s amazing at serious roles!
If only they could get him to do that more often. Not say a word.
Opensubtitles has ‘em.
Good to see ol’ Nick get to do a decent movie again. I guess he’s finally done his penance for whatever he did to offend the old gods of Hollywood, huh? Let’s hope it’s not a one-off thing. 7.2/10
What happened to Bill Murray? He’s done a bunch of great movies in his career, especially since his resurgence with “Rushmore” and “Lost in Translation” in the early 2000s!
is subtitles needed?, I am reading a lot of reviews recommending them, but it is a English speaking movie……?
It’s in English. There were some players that had low sound issues. And this isn’t one of Cage’s shouting movies.
ok thank you.
He deserves the Oscar for this
Ehhhh I’ll come back when I’m not shrooming. Couldn’t hold my attention
BRILLIANT ! SIMPLY BRILLIANT. Real Food & furry love Nothing else matters
Mr. Cage has to be trolling us, at this point.
I wanted to like this, but it was so bad I could only make it halfway through. Bad script, bad acting, nothing made any sense at all. 2/10
I agree - I read the comments above and wondered if people were seeing the same film I was seeing.
Script was awfully written…
Ultimately not very satisfying, full of empty promises like life. We get there but don’t know it until age or happenstance eliminates our idealism and renders us cynics.
I would have used a better camera man for the steadicam and pulled back more. It’s a very focused and economical film with little room for poetics. The scene where Cage’s character talks about the earthquake is good, you could say it makes a point, it seemed to come out of nowhere and be an attempt to define the character. Perhaps the point is that everything in life is and can be arbitrary. Love, loss, no matter who you are, the truth comes to you sooner or later.
Thanks to the uploaders, the film makes you think if you can.
This is a stupid movie! I feel sorry for the pig!!
Well that was different…wild and weird. Just like Nic Cage. Love this guy!
Of course
I wouldn’t say it is a drama/thriller because really it’s a drama. It was okay for me. 3/5.
Better than nobody, in almost every way. Ending was lacking tho, not gonna lie.
Yea, thats the Nick Cage we know and love. He can do so much with just a look, a gesture, amazing heartfelt story!!
