Faced with the impending dissolution of The French Dispatch, a factual weekly report on various subjects, old-school editor-in-chief Arthur Howitzer Jr. assembles the crème de la crème of the magazine’s loyal expatriate journalists for one final issue. Against the backdrop of picturesque Ennui-sur-Blasé, Paris, France, three main articles unfold, pivoting around tormented genius artists, statuesque prison officers, flamboyant critics, moody idealists, conflicted ace reporters, legendary chefs, and, of course, the police. |

The rare film that becomes a cult film before release
Excellent observation expresso! We have been waiting for how long? I am having a conniption fit waiting for it!
I am eating my head just waiting for the DVD/VOD rip to show up.
I will be the first to say I understood Absolutely none of this movie what so ever,Calgon Take Me Away!
So delightfully charming…Hollywood redeems itself. It’s not a prequel, sequel or remake, but an original. How refreshing! Wes Anderson’s star studded cast doesn’t disappoint. Pop the corn, put up your feet and get ready to be transported out of ENNUI-sur-BLASÉ.
Gotta love Wes Anderson’s films for it’s quirkiness..!
Ulisses among movies. Pinnacle of cinematographic art.
I needed this movie so badly. A good hard laugh is so hard to find. I thank the god that I don’t believe in every day for Wes Anderson.
The cinematography is breathtaking. No doubt about that.
What’s the flick is about? Probably not about anything…
all due respect to the actors, i cannot fathom any reason to justify this movie other than someone pulling a giant joke on us.
