A loving, caring but unemployed son (John Y) struggles to collect funds to buy his mother (Helena Law Lan) a nice birthday dinner at a high-end restaurant. To their surprise, the restaurant serves low-quality food and imposes tricky rules on customers. The restaurant owner (Hiro Hayama) is in financial crisis just like the son, while the waiter (Jason Wong) finds the mother very annoying and demanding. Throughout the dinner, the son feels embarrassed by his mother who keeps on complaining to the restaurant owner and waiter. On the other hand, his mother is not satisfied with him always being too generous with everything. At the end, the son finds out that the dinner costs much more than he expects. Even worse, he does not have enough money to pay for the bill but does not want his mother to know about it…
